1981 Honda Cb on 2040-motos
Honda CB tech info
Honda CB description
This is a Classic 1981 CB750F tastefully done in a period correct cafe style. The frame is painted Honda Red and the paint scheme is red, white, and blue mimicing the very limited 1979 Phil Read special. Phil Read raced for Team Honda Britton one year in 1979 and Honda issued a model to commemorate this. While this bike is NOT a Phil Read Special, it was built similar in style.
Gold aftermarket rims, European CB rear sets that are placed farther back, an ATK fork brace, bar-end mirrors, and a Gustafsson cafe fairing complete the look. The bike has 26823 miles on the all stock motor with the only upgrade being the 4-into-1 exhaust. This bike is a head turner as everybody remembers the classic CB styling from the 80's. This bike just one a first place trophy in the Sport Bike class of a local motorcycle show. There are some paint chips on the frame and this is not a showroom type restoration. This bike was made to be ridden and shown off! I ride it to town whenever the mood strikes, so it is road worthy/ready. It is currently registered, titled, and insured in SW Colorado. A $250 deposit through Paypal required within 48 hours of the winning bid with the remainder wired or handed in person before the bike is released. I will not ship this bike, pick-up is the buyer's responsibility. |

Awesome Anaheim Supercross
Fri, 11 Jan 2013The highlight of this winter has to be my visit to last week’s Anaheim Californian Supercross. I’ve followed this spectacular series on Motors TV but the atmosphere while watching the action live is something else. Forty five Yankee dollars gets you a good seat high in the stadium, with practice starting at 12.30pm and the main event kicking off at 7.30pm. If you are making a day of it however, I’d recommend buying a pit pass then you can get in full anorak mode to hassle the teams and riders for autographs and photos. We conveniently made some new friends allowing us to do some pre event ‘tail gating’, a great concept which is basically barbecuing and downing beer around your vehicle in the surrounding car parks. The evening race schedule is four hours of nonstop action starting with the capacity crowd standing for the American national anthem sung by a stunning blonde with a huge voice.
Proof: Change chain, gain power
Wed, 22 Jun 2011Point six of a BHP may not sound like much but, in my book, any gain is a good gain, especially when it’s as simple as changing a chain and sprockets. After all, you're going to have to do it sooner or later when your old chain and sprockets die their death. I’ve always been interested in what gains are available in the drive train.
honda design book
Thu, 17 Dec 2009Those of you with a penchant for coffee table books will love this little gem from Japan. Honda Design 1957-1984 does exactly what it says on the tin and allows us an insight to the work behind many of our favourite motorcycles. Sketches, pre-production drawings and plenty of retro pictures of a golden era.
