Check out this video to hear the bike run: https://youtu.be/AYcnCuROYv8

This bike is in amazing condition, both cosmetically and mechanically. A friend of mine kept it in his garage for the last two years, and sold it to me to help get his business started. I only had to tinker with it a bit to get it going again, and now its ready to drive out of here!

The work on the bike is all very fresh, with no more than 100 miles on any of it. This includes:
-Rebuilt and bored from 900cc to 985cc with Wiseco K985 67.5mm pistons, rings, and pins
-New clutch basket and plates
-New exhaust with Vance and Hines 4-into-1
-New coils
-New chain and sprocket
-New tires
-Forks rebuilt
-Carburetor rebuild including cleaning, rejetting (for overbore), and tuning
-Repainted tank, forks, side covers, pretty much the whole thing

Between the new exhaust and overbore this bike is faster and more powerful than its counterparts, and rides smooth and easy. I would keep it but I already have another older project bike and don't need two hanging around.

Classic Off-Road Bikes Featured in Braving Baja: 1,000 Miles to Glory Exhibition

Sat, 06 Apr 2013

Back in the 60s, American Honda tested the durability of its motorcycles by sending a CL72 Scrambler on a 950-mile trek through rocks, sand washes, dry lake beds, mountain passes and paved roads. Fifty years later, that legendary run is remembered for inspiring one of the most significant off-road races in the world—the Baja 1000. In celebration, the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles is hosting a tribute dinner, one-day off road show, and summer-long exhibition called Braving Baja, 1,000 Miles to Glory.

Honda to Compete in 2013 Dakar Rally

Tue, 03 Jul 2012

Honda announced it will enter a works team in the 2013 Dakar Rally‘s motorcycle class, returning to the event for the first time in 23 years. The Japanese manufacturer competed in the Rally from 1981 to 1989 when it was known as the Paris-Dakar Rally. Honda won five times during that period but then stopped entering its own team.

Can you identify this mystery Honda?

Mon, 05 Sep 2011

Calling all motorcycle geeks. Can you identify this bike? It's from a Honda patent dating back to around 1992 and coinciding with both the original Fireblade design and the RC45 designs being patented.
