Honda CB description

Here is a fairly rare bike, only imported to the US in 1994 and 1995, more popular in Europe and sold there until 1998. This was Hondas answer to the naked standard or street fighter muscle bike market-basically a retuned CBR1000 with a more upright riding position and a 5 gear transmission geared for quick acceleration. Only real issue for a 20 yr old bike is the speedometer stopped working last fall-never bothered me enough to fix it-might have 500 to 1000 mis than it shows max. Starts right up and runs good-stops good rides good-no issues with carbs or gearbox-clutch is smooth and strong-shifts like butter. Cam chain tensioner has been serviced and valves adjusted so no rattle or tap. This bike is a blast through the gears up to as fast as you can hang on...top speed probably 140 period tests have 1/4 mi at mid 11's and 117 mph-brakes are strong and progressive-current tires are way better than were available new and it handles very well for it's size and weight-helps if you are big too-I am just under 6 ft and fits me ok but 6' plus guys will have plenty of room and an easy reach to the bars. Great pull from above idle-really strong from 6000 to redline. Previous owner sprayed the tank satin black and a definite rattle can job...said his tank bag marked up the tank-whatever-looks kind of cool-rear fender was cut to give a sportier look, has Rizoma grips and Piazzo levers. Came with little bar end mirrors that will go with the bike-clutch side bar end fell off at some point-bar ends are NOT Rizoma-probably explains why it fell off...P O removed center stand and I do not have it. P O also fitted the smaller turn signals, newer tires, and Yoshimura slip on muffler-sounds nice not loud. He also rebuilt the forks and put in progressive springs-original separate reservoir shocks are in like-new condition. Rims are original 18in and yes they still make tires to fit-someone was a bit rough with them at some point on a tire changes as they are scratched up on the edges. Chain and sprockets still have some life but chain is near stretch limit. Feel free to ask questions...bike will come with a factory service manual. Sold as is where is. I am less than two hours from NYC, 30 minutes from Philly, and two hours from Baltimore Please be serious with your offer-an accepted offer is a contract to purchaseClear NJ title in my name-no liens.Local Pickup welcome and encouraged

MotoGP Lifts Rookie Rule, Caps Factory Prototype Entries and Adjusts Other Regulations

Fri, 29 Jun 2012

As expected, MotoGP organizers have officially lifted the rule barring rookies from racing for factory teams, but the Grand Prix Commission also tweaked some other regulations including a cap on factory prototype machines. We’ve discussed the lifting of the rookie rule already, with the main impetus being to allow a manufacturer such as Honda to sign up-and-coming Moto2 star Marc Marquez when he is expected to move up to the premiere class next season. As of Jan.

"Dangerous" assistant

Thu, 07 Apr 2016

Honda has patented its development in the field of interactive technologies that prevent accidents, following BMW. The Japanese proposed a warning system about the danger that lies in wait for the driver in the blind zone. Honda engineers have proposed equipping the motorcycle with cameras and radars that will detect dangerous proximity to another vehicle or pedestrian and warn the driver through light indication or tactile feedback.

Tire Life At The Isle Of Man + Video

Wed, 27 Aug 2014

If you’re like us, you never get enough Isle of Man videos. While the men and machines that fly around the course are nothing short of mesmerizing, let’s take a moment and talk about a crucial aspect of any race: the tires. In this Honda-supplied video, Dunlop technicians, along with 21-time TT winner, John McGuiness, talk about the challenges the Isle throws at tires.
