Honda CL description

I have owned  this bike for many years, I bought it to sort of re-live my youth as I had one just like it in my Junior/Senior year of High School. I was attracted to it initially because it was as original and beautiful as the one I bought slightly used in 1968. It had some issues with surface rust when I bought it so I spared no expense having the entire exhaust system, front and rear fenders, headlight trim and rear shocks rechromed by the best platter in the business at the time, Browns Platting in Kentucky. After that I decided to overhaul the engine and once again spared no expense by boring the cyls out .25 inches, installing new wesco pistons & rings, new valves, new timing belt, engine gaskets etc. We installed a new drive chain, new tires, new clutch plates and put in a Pamco electronic ignition. The end result is basically a bike that starts, runs, shifts and looks like my bike did back in 1968. The tank and sidecovers still shine like new but show some age as you might expect from a original 48 year old machine. But you really have to look close to see the flaws I have to say.
Has new period correct Dunlop tires. Original owners manual and tool kit included with purchase.

The speedometer and mileage are original to the bike and the 8,066 miles are correct, but keep in mind the engine overhaul negates that, and the motor is for all practical purposes, new. Maybe even better than new, considering the modern upgrades with the pistons, rings and electronic ignition.

I really thought I would never sell this bike and planned on passing it on to my son as a special momento of my past. However times and situations change so I'm offering my dream bike to the highest bidder in hopes that someone who will enjoy and appreciate it as much as I have.
This bike needs nothing. Just get on it,kick it over, it starts on the first kick everytime.....and then ride it anywhere with the confidence that it will get you there and back in style.....or take to the Vintage Motorcycle rallys and enter it in the original class.......... then find a place for the trophys it will win!

I have posted several dozen photos plus a few videos showing closeup and details on my photobucket site as well as a video of the bike starting/running on a youtube video that can describe the bike in much better detail than I can.

Clear Texas Title in my name. Bike is located at my home in Central Missouri.

My starting bid is much less than the money I have invested in the Vintage Classic. You might find one cheaper, but I doubt you will find one nicer and complete.

The Honda SH150i has been a big seller in Europe for years and will finally be coming to the U.S. in May. Honda might be arriving a year late, missing the huge demand from last years gas spike and is a little pricey at $4,499 considering you can get a Kawasaki Ninja 250R for $500 less.

Honda CRF450R Gets Further Refined for 2014

Tue, 14 May 2013

The CRF250R received a significant update for 2014, including a new frame and dual-exhaust setup first introduced in the CRF450R  which itself received a substantial update year. The current-generation CRF450R may only be a year old, but that didn’t stop Honda from introducing a couple of refinements for 2014. For 2014, Honda had tweaked the engine, adding new intake and exhaust ports and a new dual-timing fuel injection setup.
