Honda CL description

1971 Honda CL450 cycle up for auction. We picked a few bikes to part out but felt that this would make someone a good restoration or cafe racer project. First I do have an Illinois title from 1985 signed but not dated. This was packed away for many years and will need the usual battery, gas, carb clean etc to get running. The engine turns over nicely and seems to have good compression. I do not have keys so I cannot tell you if it sparks or not. Throttle does not move, my guess is carbs are frozen. Bike looks to be 100% complete. Has all the usual rust that a bike sitting has, seat is torn, tank has varnish inside but seems very solid. This is NOT a running bike, it is a project for someone. Starting bid is the lowest I will take for the bike so please do NOT send offers!!! Please ask questions and I will try my best to answer. Local pick up is preferred, any shipping is sole responsibility of the buyer. Cash on pick up will be method of payment, a $100 deposit is required within 24 hours thru Paypal. If planning to use Paypal for full payment you will pay the extra 3% fee to use it. Anyone is welcome to come view the bike in person Monday thru Friday 10am to 5pm at 3271 Central Ave, Dubuque IA 52001

Classic Off-Road Bikes Featured in Braving Baja: 1,000 Miles to Glory Exhibition

Sat, 06 Apr 2013

Back in the 60s, American Honda tested the durability of its motorcycles by sending a CL72 Scrambler on a 950-mile trek through rocks, sand washes, dry lake beds, mountain passes and paved roads. Fifty years later, that legendary run is remembered for inspiring one of the most significant off-road races in the world—the Baja 1000. In celebration, the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles is hosting a tribute dinner, one-day off road show, and summer-long exhibition called Braving Baja, 1,000 Miles to Glory.

Start the ultimate project bike

Wed, 17 Nov 2010

The base for the ultimate project bike have appeared online, a Honda RC211V. The adverts consist of the supposedly the frame from Valentino Rossi's championship dominating machine from 2003 on eBay and a frame that comes complete with the sexy V5 engine. The eBay listing is currently at $510 and is literally an incomplete frame with the ad stating that it is the 'unfinished basis of replacement RC211V frame, all made in aluminium with CNC machined parts & high quality welding', the bidding is still under the reserve set by the user.

Hero MotoCorp Reveals RNT 150 Turbo Direct Injection Diesel Concept

Wed, 29 Jan 2014

Hero MotoCorp revealed a new scooter concept powered by a 150cc turbocharged direct injection diesel engine. And if that isn’t unique enough, the concept is also two-wheel drive, with an electric motor in the front wheel hub. It’s too soon to know when the Hero RNT 150 TDI concept will ever make it to serial production, but the scooter does represent a technological show of force, proving that Hero can carry on its own research and development following its split from longtime partner Honda.
