Honda CRF description

Kevin Windham Factory Connection Honda CRF450R

***New bidders please read last paragraph***

From the estate of Mike Owens, co-founder of the 'Legends & Heroes' motocross museum. In 2005 longtime Honda racer Kevin Windham rode for the Works Connection Racing team, sponsored by Sobe, Samsung & Amsoil. At times during the season, the bike was outfitted with limited-edition all-gold bodywork to celebrate Sobe's No Fear Gold energy drink. When the season ended, Works Connection retained ownership of the bike while the works American Honda engine, Showa suspension & Nissin brakes were returned to their respective factories per agreement. The bike's original, low-hours stock components replaced the works items, attached to the as-raced aluminum frame & billet Pro Circuit triple clamps. At the same time, Works Connection prepped the bike for exhibition, fitting unused gold bodywork, fresh gold-painted hubs and new gold-anodized Excel rims. The result is truly striking and has to be one of the best-looking motocross bikes of recent times.

Mike Owens acquired the bike for his personal collection and for display in the 'Legends & Heroes' traveling museum. Kevin Windham attended the change-of-ownership ceremony and autographed the front number plate for Owens (see photos 7-10). Included in the sale is the original Manufacturers Certificate of Origin, transferring ownership of the bike from American Honda to Works Connection Racing, and verifying the bike's frame & engine numbers (photos 20-24). Also included (not shown in photos) is a matching gold work stand. Unstarted & unridden during Owens' ownership, the bike is located in Capistrano Beach, California, and is available for inspection by appointment. Sold on a bill of sale, no title.

Does your 2010 Honda Fury have Sloppy Welds?

Tue, 02 Jun 2009

The 2010 Honda Fury Chopper has been out for a few weeks now and people have been buying them up all across North America.  A local Honda dealer revealed to us that he only received 4 choppers from Honda and sold them before they even arrived at his shop. The Fury is at a great price for those who want a stylish chopper look, but are you sacrificing quality for a bargain chopper?  Do sloppy welds break your heart or can you tough it out and live with them knowing you got a unique looking bike at an affordable price? See the full post for pictures and opinions.

WSBK 2013: Jerez Race Report

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

Eugene Laverty did everything he could, scoring a pair of race wins but it was not enough as Tom Sykes rode smartly and conservatively at the season finale in Spain, securing his first ever World Superbike Championship. Sykes landed in Jerez with a 37-point lead over Laverty and a 38-point lead over Sylvain Guintoli. While Laverty battled Marco Melandri to win Race One, Sykes coasted comfortably in third for most of the race to score 16 points, enough to clinch the title.

2014 HRC Dakar Team Announced

Thu, 30 May 2013

Today at Mugello, ahead of this weekend’s MotoGP race at the famous Italian racetrack, Team HRC unveiled its 2014 Dakar team and motorcycle. Interestingly, one person many thought could be a Red Rider this year after leaving KTM, Cyril Despres, will not be riding a Honda next year, instead joining Yamaha’s Dakar effort.   However, HRC’s team still features five accomplished riders: Helder Rodrigues (Portugal), Sam Sunderland (UK), Javier Pizzolito (Argentina),  Joan Barreda (Spain) and Paulo Goncalves (Portugal), all of whom will be competing on the CRF450 Rally.
