New MotoGP Rules for ECU and Factory Status for 2014
Fri, 26 Jul 2013The Grand Prix Commission released new rules for the 2014 MotoGP season regarding the standard electronic control unit and what constitutes “factory status” for manufacturers. Starting in 2014, the official MotoGP ECU including internal datalogger from Magneti Marelli will become mandatory. Factory teams will be allowed to program their own ECU software while privateers will be required to run the standard software.
Honda CRF250L Confirmed for North America
Thu, 19 Apr 2012American Honda and Honda Canada haven’t yet officially announced they will import the new Honda CRF250L, but the parent company has outed the dual-sport’s availability in North America. Honda has launched a new micro-site dedicated to the CRF250L describing its features including its CBR250R-derived engine. McGuinness had recorded third-place finishes at the Superbike, Superstock and the second Supersport TT races earlier in the week, but the active leader in Isle of Man TT wins was stuck at 19 wins all week. That finally changed and the Honda TT Legends racer finally earned win #20 in the final race of this year’s event, the Senior TT.
