This is a high quality GL1000, which starts, runs and rides very well.
The previous owner bought this bike in fairly good condition and then went overboard making it better. Practically every consumable part was replaced, along with anything else that did not appear to be in great shape. Almost everything (and maybe everything) was replaced with OEM parts. I'd say this bike is about 99% stock, with the exception of the Corbin seat that I installed. Everything on the bike is in either very good or excellent condition. The PO saved all the receipts for parts bought and services provided for the bike, and it is extensive. I'd estimate that there are hundreds of line items, costing thousands of dollars. Here is a partial list of parts replaced or maintenance done: carbs rebuilt by Pistol Pete 3 brake rotors and pads and shims master cylinder from Randak brake caliper pistons electrical connections, terminals, etc from Corsa Technic corbin seat shelter bushings from Randakk kick starter lever strap from Randakk starter solenoid fuel pump fuses emblems exhaust clamps tail light lens gasket clutch seal kick start seal dust and oil seals steering head bearings and races choke cable tank mounts fork caps tires, tubes and a expanse variety of washers, bolts, collars, guides, pins and springs and rubber parts This is a partial list to give an idea of the work done - I will include all of the receipts with the sale. The bike was also repainted in original colors except the side panels were overlooked. They are a little lighter due to sun fading, but it probably isn't noticeable to most people. I would encourage you to come take a look and test drive if possible, or send someone to check out the bike on your behalf. Motorcycle Thefts Down 11.2% in 2010
Wed, 21 Sep 2011Motorcycle thefts in the U.S. are down for the fourth consecutive year in 2010, according to a report from the National Insurance Crime Bureau. There were 49,791 reported motorcycle thefts in 2010, an 11.2% drop from the 56,093 thefts reported in 2009.
Misano Moto GP. Was it Divine Intervention?
Thu, 20 Sep 2012I’m still buzzing from an amazing weekend of Moto GP in Misano. It took until Saturday lunchtime for the sun to get his hat on but from there on in the atmosphere at both the circuit and the nearby beachfront was first class. As usual on race day we had epic Moto 3 and Moto 2 races with respective champions elect Cortese and Marquez once again taking victories by just fractions of a second.
