1983 HONDA VF-750F INTERCEPTOR
I AM OFFERING UP FOR AUCTION MY VERY ORIGINAL 1983 INTERCEPTOR 750
HISTORY:
I bought this bike about 2 years ago from what I am told was the 3rd owner, who only had it for a short time before he Ebay'd it, and I bought it. I was told it had been sitting inside a heated basement for almost 10 years, and hence the low miles. That was the 2nd owner. I have the original bill of sale from M&M Cycle Sales in Kalamazoo, MI, and what appears to be the registration card of the 2nd owner in Augusta, MI. My seller never registered it, so I guess I am legally the 3rd owner. This bike came with about 4800 miles on it to me, and I have the original tires, the original handgrips are still on it, as is the chain. The only thing I can see that is not original are the fluids. It has a tool kit, the owners manual, and I am including a shop manual as well. My title is free and clear, Washington State.
WHAT I DID:
I bought this bike to ride, and when it got to me, the carbs were a mess....it ran, but poorly, so I set about making it right. I had my certified local mechanic go through the carbs and clean or replace anything that was worn. There are new float valves, the needles have been shimmed to make it run right, new gaskets, and also a new petcock. Carbs were synched and adjusted, as were the valves....which gave time to check the infamous cams for wear, and they look great. Air and oil filter changed, new oil, front and rear brake systems drained and flushed, new EBC brakes installed, with braided steel lines front and rear. New fuel filter also. Front fork seals were also replaced, and Progressive fork springs added. new Bridgestone BT-45 tires front and rear. Original air shock was replaced with a reworked CBR-900 RR shock with remote reservoir and fully adjustable done by Daugherty Motorsports, Ft Wayne Indiana. Clutch fluid drained and system flushed. I retained ALL the stock pieces, even the brake pads...so there isn't much that is not original on this bike.
WHAT IT IS:
It is a beautiful ORIGINAL example of Honda's groundbreaking sport-bike. I really cannot find a ding in the paint of the bodywork, and there are some minor chips on the lower areas of the frame from road debris, but otherwise this is in excellent condition. I don't think the pictures do it justice, as I was trying to get the bike out in the sunlight here in Seattle, but it became a dodgey undertaking, and has rained the past 3-4 days. But, I think anyone would be happy with the condition of this motorcycle, and with my upgrades, it is actually great fun to ride .....
I am not seeking any trades, nor will I tell you my reserve, but I think it is fairly priced given what it is. I will assist in shipping by dropping the bike off to your shipper in Seattle for free. Payment to be made by wire transfer between banks or a certified check that has cleared my bank, before I release the bike.

Stoner Tops Day One of Sepang Test – Video
Tue, 28 Feb 2012It’s been about a month since Casey Stoner last tested the Honda RC213V racebike at Malaysia’s Sepang circuit but the defending World Champion remains the man to beat, setting the fastest lap at the first day of MotoGP’s February Sepang test. Heavy rain limited teams’ testing and Stoner only completed 16 laps but still managed to set a time of 2:01.761.
