Honda NSR250R description

Shipping within the contiguous 48 states is free. Free shipping of the bike, free insured shipping of the spare parts.

1987 Honda NSR250R - this is a 250cc v-twin two cylinder two stroke street legal bike from Japan. 45hp and 300LBS wet.

100% legally imported, it has a clean Washington state title with matching VIN. It's legal in all 50 states [CALIFORNIA PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS BEFORE BUYING.] No import documentation is needed now that it has a US title. Eligible for collector plates 1st of the year which means no more yearly tabs or inspections, EVER.

7418 km (may go up if I decide to take it for a cruise taking the weather into acct) which is appx 4609 miles. Perfect compression, everything works.

What I have done to it:

-electrical/ignition system overhauled: new CDI boxes, new fuses, new NGK plugs and new battery, verified all voltages and resistances per Honda manual

-brake system overhauled: bled, new fluids, cleaned, etc.

-fuel system overhauled: tank cleaned, carbs cleaned, rebuilt, tuned/sync'd and properly jetted. Needles clean enough for a nurse and jets can be played like a flute

-lubrication system overhauled: new oil feed lines, new oil, filter cleaned, all slides and servo springs greased

-exhaust system overhauled - repainted pipes and polished silencers, new gaskets front and rear

- Fairings claybarred and waxed, headlight bracket/fairing mount restored to new. The last thing I had in mind was powdercoating the wheels but just never got around to it.

Overall I would say the bike currently is in appx 8-8.5 out of 10 with only some very minor cosmetic imperfections. Slight nick on the right side fairing vent scoop, a very minor scrape on the right side nose cowl, and a few tiny flecks of rust towards the front underside of the tank from age. No cracks or dents or severe damage to the tank.

What's included with the bike [PARTS LISTED IN BOLD ARE STILL BEING PACKED/SHIPPED FROM JAPAN AND MUST BE SHIPPED SEPARATELY FROM THE BIKE]:

-original Honda key, owner's manual, tool kit, full English Honda Factory repair manual and parts breakdown/engine rebuild guide

-an extra pair of OEM CDI boxes

-spare carb kit

-new spare OEM exhaust gaskets

-spare OEM R/R (reg/rectifier)

-extra OEM ignition coils, NGK plugs, caps and wires

-new spare OEM crankshaft oil seals from Japan

-complete spare crankshaft assembly with con-rods (OEM from Japan)

-extra nose cowl, left side fairing, chin fairing, fairing stays, front fender, fuel tank and windscreen. I planned on restoring my spare set to new and custom painting with the Nissin Cup Noodle scheme. What you do with them is up to you. I will add some more pictures of the spare stuff when I get a chance.

What it could use/What I would do if I kept it:

-Tires. I don't have the time outside of work to drop the bike off or wait for new ones to be put on.
-Steel braided brake lines. This is an upgrade regardless of the vehicle. Complete kit can be had for $150 but the OEM lines do just fine.

Parts listed in bold I am still waiting on from Japan.  I have to ship the extra items separately because they are not insured if they are not on the bike. Again: all extra parts NOT attached to the motorcycle MUST be shipped separately so they are insured!

The World Endurance Championship Starts This Weekend

Wed, 23 Apr 2014

Endurance racing is perhaps the ultimate test of both man and machine. In the past, teams would pace themselves in order to rest both elements enough to make a final push at the end. These days, however, motorcycles are more reliable than ever, and riders train like triathletes.

You’ve read the review from India, the technical report from the U.S., and even took a look at the Canadian unveiling. Now you can see Honda’s brand new CBR250R in action in a video. Honda put together a video that is clearly aimed at new riders, but it gives us our first shots of the thumper taking on the tarmac.
