Honda Nighthawk description

Hello,Bought this late last year to fix up and haven't got around to it yet, so it's got to go...This is a very vwery clean 1983 Honda Nighthawk 650. They called these the 750 killers back then - the reviews I read all said it was very fast for a 650.No dents or scrapes, barely a scratch on it; the paint is almost showroom clean. Has the optional Honda Line rear low-profile sissybar with the Hondaline small luggage rack. No tears on the seat or sissy bar pad. When I bought it it needed a few things, and still does:- Tires are maybe original - hold air, but to do it right, they should be replaced.- Marker light rubber mounts (the lamps themselves are fine, just the rubber mounts that they mount to have broken. They run about $12-17 each.- Front calipers are unbolted - not sure of their condition, maybe just need to be bolted back on and blead, maybe re-built?, but they're easy to find on ebay for $30-45 each. This bike has about 21K on it and it's a showroom looker with a tiny bit of elbow grease. Not that much to do to make it pretty - the aluminum and chrome are in attractive shape, paint is excellent, logos great, engine clean and exhaust shiny with no discoloring or dents. This bike has never been put down or abused, based on it's appearance. It's not running right now, it's in the exact state it was when I bought it.These are know to be just about bullet proof - self adjusting cams and whatnot...Need the room and need to lose a project that I don't have enough time for. It's a one-owner bike - original owner got too old to ride it and it sat in his garage for a few years. Have the original A title.Don't ask to bring a battery and drain the gas and try to start it - if I wanted to go to all that trouble, I'd keep the darn bike. This is a project, but a weekend project at that. Keep your $300 offers for someone else.Julian

AMA Supercross: 2012 San Diego Results

Mon, 13 Feb 2012

Ryan Villopoto captured his second straight victory, winning the San Diego round of the 2012 AMA Supercross championship. The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider now has three wins on the season, two more than anyone else, but his hold on the championship points lead has only increased to six points. Villopoto took the lead on the second lap of the main event after overtaking Brett Metcalfe of Yoshimura Suzuki who took the holeshot, with Villopoto‘s teammate Jake Weimer also in the lead group.

A postcard from Moto GP Jerez

Fri, 04 May 2012

If the weather over the Jerez Moto GP weekend was dull then the atmosphere in the press room was the complete opposite.  After the carnage and chaos during the Moto 3 race, the amazing Romano Fenati (in only his second GP) had the Italian journalists celebrating as he crossed the line to win. I smiled as they simultaneously began singing ‘Y Viva Espana’ as if to signify the end of Spanish dominance in the junior GP class.

2014 AMA Supercross – Indianapolis Results

Mon, 03 Mar 2014

Ryan Dungey captured his first win of the 2014 AMA Supercross season in a wild main event that saw two of the top title contenders crashing on the starting straight at Indianapolis‘ Lucas Oil Stadium. Smartop MotoConcepts Suzuki rider Mike Alessi took the holeshot for the second race in a row, but the big news was incoming points leader Ryan Villopoto and Ken Roczen going down before the first turn. Roczen trailed Villopoto by nine points going into the Indianapolis round, but the KTM rookie’s hopes of overtaking the reigning champion took a blow when he went down on the straight, knocking Villopoto off in the process.
