Honda Shadow description

1995 Honda VT 1100 C Shadow for Sale!

This was my uncles motorcycle and on his passing has come to me. He was the classic "biker" all his life, owning many Harley's and a Triumph and building motorcycle frames for a living. I originally bought this bike from the dealer, but it was a switch for me from crotch-rockets to cruiser. It was such a difference that I decided to bring my uncle into the Honda family.  It has been adult owned and garage kept, with normal maintenance ( oil, fluids etc.) done regularly.

He rode this for many years and with a few mods to make it more chopper or "bobber" than stock.
In his later life, he had some difficulty moving the bike and it took a spill in the garage. I offered to repair and repaint the tank, but he refused. He attached a stuffed shamrock to the side. On his passing I removed that shamrock and it with with him to the Great Highway in the sky.

I know this may not sound like the average
post for a bike sale, but I am sad to see it go and hope that the next rider will enjoy it.

While it has been in my care, I have ridden it several times, but it's not my bike. Too many memories. I have kept it stored and run it a few times a month to keep the motor fresh and the battery is on a conditioner.

Here is a list of the bike conditions.

Mechanical condition - Good
The bike runs very well. New battery. Good tires, Adult owned and garage kept. Well maintained.
It has extended front forks and controls. Not quite a "bobber" but more chopper than stock.

Cosmetic - Fair

It was dropped on right hand side, resulting in a small dent in the tank.

Defect/Issues-Minor
On the handlebar, the clutch reservoir will need new hardware and gasket. It works and shifts fine, but requires refilling more often than usual.
The front brake reservoir needs replacement gasket and hardware. No leaks but the screws are old and stripped. The front brakes work well and I hate the idea of replacing the reservoir because of two screws that someone can remove with the right tools.

Overall condition: Good

Aside from the minor cosmetic and hardware issues, the bike runs very well and rides nicely.
Just needs a bit more TLC than I can provide and a damn good bath.

Capirossi Announces Retirement at Conclusion of 2011 Season

Thu, 01 Sep 2011

Loris Capirossi announced he will retire at the end of the 2011 MotoGP season, closing off a quarter century of racing including 22 years at the Grand Prix level and three World Championships. “It’s an important moment in my career, and the decision I made has come about after a lot of reflection,” says Capriossi. “I’m happy that after 25 years, of which 22 were in the world championship, I’m at a point where I can still have a smile on my lips as I part ways, even if it’s difficult to think that I won’t be riding a bike next year.” The announcement was made during a press conference at Misano for the upcoming San Marino Grand Prix, the final Italian stop of the 2011 season.

Honda Canada to Launch CBR250R Racing Series

Fri, 30 Sep 2011

Honda Canada will introduce a new national racing series featuring the CBR250R for 2012. The news is no surprise as Honda has been running a CBR125R Challenge racing series as a support class for the Canadian Superbike Championship since 2008. With the CBR250R on the market for nearly a year (and reportedly doing quite well at that), a racing series featuring the quarter-liter sportbike was almost inevitable.
