Believe it or not, news sites hate April Fools Day. On any other day, it’s challenging enough to find and verify news from a variety of sources, but on this day, everyone seems to want to outdo one another with fake press releases and everything needs to be checked in triplicate to root out what’s real and what is a prank. Isle of Man TT 2012: TT Zero Results – MotoCzysz Wins 100 mph Bounty

Third time’s a charm. 2010 and 2011 TT Zero winner MotoCzysz, with rider Michael Rutter, finally became the first to average a speed of 100 mph on the Isle of Man‘s 37.733 Mountain Course on an electric motorcycle, capturing the long-sought after 10,000 British pound (US$15,000) bounty. Wearing the #1 plate for winning last year’s TT Zero, Rutter completed the 2012 TT Zero with a time of 21:45.33 for an average speed of 104.056 mph on the new 2012 MotoCzysz E1PC.

Did we see the future of World Superbike racing last weekend at the BSB event? Possibly, but only if everyone is on Evo spec machines in 2012. By setting the 2nd fastest lap in race one and running second for a while in race two, the brilliant Alex Lowes proved that with a good grid position an Evo spec machine can be competitive for part race distance at least.
