Marco Melandri earned BMW its second ever World Superbike victory to move into second place in the championship standings behind Max Biaggi in the series’ only stop in the United States. Melandri won a red-flagged Race Two at Utah’s Miller Motorsports Park after finishing second to defending WSBK Champion Carlos Checa in Race One to give him 142.5 points on the season, tied with Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes but behind Aprilia‘s Biaggi who leads the way with 160.5 points. 2014 Honda CTX700 and CTX700N Revealed, the First in a New Series Focused on Comfort, Technology and Experience

Honda pulled the covers off a new streetbike series aimed at younger, shorter riders. The Honda CTX700 represents the first in a new series from Honda combining the three tenets of Comfort, Technology and Experience. It’s a platform “specifically engineered to make motorcycling more approachable, affordable and fun than ever before.” Our own Troy Siahaan is at the CTX700 models’ launch in Chicago and will have a full first-hand report next week, but for now here’s a quick look at Honda’s new streetbikes.

60's styled electric concept bike

This electric concept bike takes the styling of an Ossa Grand Prix ridden in late 1960s by Santiago Herrero and brings it into the 21st century. From Barcelona design studio ART-TIC the Monocasco takes its styling cues from Ossa's monocoque racing bike that was introduced at the end of the 1960s. Spain's first motorcycle Grand Prix hero, Herrero took the bike to four victories before his fatal crash in the 1970 Isle of Man TT.
