Saturday, August third is your chance to own a legend – that is if you have a spare $75,000-$125,000 laying around. That’s the price range Steve McQueen’s 1946 Indian Chief is expected to fetch during Auctions America‘s first ever SoCal event, in Burbank, CA. Documented by the McQueen Certificate of Authenticity that the bike was acquired after the actor’s death at the estate auction held in Las Vegas in 1984, the Chief was fully restored in the early 1990s.

Indian Motorcycle to Reveal 2015 Lineup at Sturgis

Indian Motorcycle made a splash at last year’s Sturgis Rally, making its rebirth under Polaris Industries and revealing its Thunderstroke 111 V-Twin powered 2014 lineup. It should come as no surprise then that Indian announced it will reveal its all-new 2015 model lineup at this year’s Sturgis Rally. Although Indian makes the “all-new” claim, we expect a similar lineup to what’s currently available (Chief, Chief Vintage and Chieftain), perhaps with a revision or a new spin on an existing model.

Polaris Industries offered the first preview of the next generation of Indian Motorcycle, releasing an audio clip of the new engine that will power an all-new model. Indian is offering a a line of 2013 Chief models but all of them are continuations of  models offered by Indian’s owners. The new Polaris-era Indians are still a year away, but Polaris decided to start promoting the brand and teasing the new models ahead of a 2014 re-launch.
