Indian 741 description

For sale my 1942 Indian 741 (Civilian Scout) project.  This was to the bike of my dreams.  But a crippling injury and the rest of life has ended that dream.

I have everything for this.  You can see in one picture all the rest of the parts. Wiring harness, cables, lines, switches, boards, horn, decals, center stand clip, etc. What you can't see is the new brake shoes and turned hubs (installed) and exhaust (forgot to take pic).

The engine and trans were rebuilt and bored to 650cc by Randy Walker of Walker Machine (if you know Indians you know Randy) and is fresh and ready to finish and run.  The tool box, tanks and fenders are from Iron Horse Corral in the 38-39 style. It is converted to 12V.  New Zenith Carburetor.

The frame, hubs, crash bar, and other black parts were powder coated black here.  Many other parts were chromed when the bike was overseas.  It was sent to the UK Commonwealth forces in India before it went to Germany where I bought it.

It is ready for you to finish and paint in the manner of your choice.

To clear up some info, the Carburetor is a new 38mm Zenith Bendix.

Two Recall Campaigns for 2009-2011 Indian Motorcycles

Mon, 11 Jul 2011

Polaris issued two separate recalls for 2009-2011 Indian motorcycles, one for a problem with the headlight and another with the kickstand. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the kickstands on 2009-2011 Indian motorcycles may not fold up and to the rear if the motorcycle is moving forward with the stand deployed. As a result, the kickstand fails to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No.

Indian Villagers Build Shrine to Mystical Royal Enfield

Wed, 26 Jun 2013

If you ever find yourself traveling through India, consider a detour through Pali, an industrial city in the northwestern state of Rajasthan. About 15 miles out of town along National Highway 65, you’ll come across a curious shrine built around a Royal Enfield Bullet 350. The shrine was erected at the site of an accident that took place on Dec.
