Indian CHIEF CLASSIC description

I purchased this original 1948 Indian Chief with matching numbers in July of 1992 from the 'Bose Collection' in Hollywood, the bike was featured in a 1991 Levis commercial. On her 50th birthday in 1998 I had her completely rebuilt, a project that took a couple of years and cost over $ 36k between 'The Shop' in Ventura, CA, Richard Brazas in Inglewood, CA and Wilson Planck at 'American Indian Specialists' in Fullerton, CA. The bike was shipped to Hamburg, Germany for a few years and has been legalized and registered in Europe as well as in the US. All records are complete, brakes, and carburetor have been improved by Wilson Planck. I love this bike and am only selling it because we live very rural in Northern California and she doesn't like our dirt roads, despite the fact that she was originally built when there were a lot more roads like ours. She is currently registered and insured in CA, but I am just not riding her enough these days and would like to find a good home for her. More info and details on request.

All 50 States Ranked For Highest Motorcycle Ownership Per Capita

Tue, 18 Feb 2014

In a recent study done ranking each of the 50 states (and the District of Columbia) by motorcycle ownership per capita, South Dakota ranked the best. There are a total of 69,284 motorcycles registered in the state, according to the Department of Transportation, and with a total population of 816,598, when you do the math, there’s roughly 12 people in South Dakota for every motorcycle. Considering South Dakota is the home of the Sturgis rally, its ranking on this list may not be much of a surprise.

Polaris Reports Q1 2013 Results

Tue, 23 Apr 2013

Polaris Industries reported a 26% increase in net income over the first quarter of 2013, but a 2.9% decline in on-road vehicle sales (comprised almost entirely of Victory and Indian Motorcycles). The company’s first quarter filings report a net income of $75.5 million, up from the $60.1 million reported over the same period in 2012. Much of the increase can be attributed to a 217% increase in net sales from its snowmobile division, spurred in large part by increase in snowfall across many regions of North America.
