Indian Chief tech info
Indian Chief description
I got this bike last month from an estate, it had been sitting as an indoor display for years. I got it running and it all works fine, runs & rides good. Ive put about 100 miles on it since it then. the paint looks pretty good, but theres a few small marks & scratches, & one lifted chip near the right gas cap, see pics. frame & engine numbers do not match. The title says its a 1940, & its titled to the engine, which going by the numbers, CCH, is a 38. the frame # is really hard to read but looks like its dated 45. the correct 1938 cylinders are there, and in nice shape. the heads look to be from the 40s as far as I know, the parts are original, not repop, but I'm no indian expert. shipping is up to the buyer, but I can help arrange enclosed shipping anywhere in the US for 450.00, with an actual bike shipper, not some clown from u-ship with a 30 year old pickup loaded with goats. overseas buyers are welcome, but shipping is up to you. full payment due within 7 days, 500 deposit due upon purchase thru paypal the balance to be paid with a check, bank transfer, or cash at pickup. I dont mind storing it for a month if you want to come get it or arrange shipping email with any questions |

Polaris Reports Q1 2014 Sales Results
Wed, 23 Apr 2014Polaris Industries reported a 52% increase in motorcycle revenues over the first quarter of 2014, thanks in large part to the addition of Indian Motorcycles. Motorcycle sales generated $78.9 million in sales revenue for Polaris, compared to $51.8 million in the same quarter last year. The key thing to remember however, is Indian Motorcycles wasn’t relaunched until late summer, so last year’s first quarter sales were made up almost entirely of Victory Motorcycles.
