Indian Chief description

1947 Indian Chief, I purchased this Indian from the ORIGINAL OWNER recently. It is all original, except it was painted 40 years ago and a 12 volt gen. was added 10 years ago (original gen, included). The Chief starts, runs and stops as it should and is ready to ride. The original owner states that he bought this in Indianapolis in Dec. 1946 and these are the tank badges that were on it when he purchased it new. The mileage is ACTUAL, motor/trans were rebuilt and probably have four to five thousand miles on them. Questions are welcome, thanks for looking. Dave L.

WSBK Cancels Round at India’s Buddh International Circuit

Wed, 14 Aug 2013

The 2013 World Superbike Championship season will end about a month earlier than scheduled, with the cancellation of the Nov. 17 round at India’s Buddh International Circuit. The Indian round had already been moved from its originally scheduled date of March 10 but the extra few months do not appear to be enough to get the circuit ready to host WSBK in November.

The Indian turned to the origins

Polaris Reports Q1 2012 Results

Wed, 18 Apr 2012

Polaris Industries reported a 44% increase in on-road vehicle sales revenue and a 40% increase in North American Victory Motorcycle unit sales over the first quarter of 2012. According to Polaris’ first quarter report, its on-road vehicle division (which consists of the Victory and Indian motorcycle brands as well as electric vehicle brands GEM and Goupil) generated $64.7 million in sales revenue, compared to $44.9 million reported in the same quarter of 2011. Of course, the Polaris didn’t yet own Indian, GEM or Goupil during that quarter last year, so the figures are a bit misleading.
