Don Emde To Retrace Cannonball’s Trail On 100th Anniversary

Saturday, May 3, 2014, marks the 100th anniversary of Erwin “Cannonball” Baker‘s epic voyage from San Diego, CA to New York City. The goal was to beat the existing record of 20 days. Not only did he beat it, but he smashed it, going coast to coast in just over 11 days.

Hybrid Motorcycle Gets 282 MPG

The ET-120 is the hybrid version of the Strike EV that was released earlier by Eko Vehicles based in Bangalore, India and claims to be the first hybrid motorcycle in the world. The new hybrid bike will feature a 70cc gas engine and electric motor that will get 120 km/l or about 282 mpg in hybrid mode, has a top speed of 40 mph but the power and torque will be equivalent to a 120cc engine. July Is Women’s Motorcycle Month

In case you’ve been living under a rock, it’s hard not to notice the rising number of women getting into the sport of motorcycling. In fact, according to the Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC), women riders increased by 34% between 1998 and 2003. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) also says women make up nearly 30% of students in its Basic RiderCourses program.
