Polaris Reports Q3 2011 Results

Polaris Industries announced another record quarter with sales growth across all its product lines including on-road vehicle sales which consist mainly of Victory Motorcycles and Indian Motorcycles. The Medinia, Minn., company reported $67.6 million in net income for the third quarter ended Sept. 30, 2011, a 43% increase from the $47.2 million reported in the same quarter of 2010.

Two Recall Campaigns for 2009-2011 Indian Motorcycles

Polaris issued two separate recalls for 2009-2011 Indian motorcycles, one for a problem with the headlight and another with the kickstand. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the kickstands on 2009-2011 Indian motorcycles may not fold up and to the rear if the motorcycle is moving forward with the stand deployed. Indian Motorcycles Marque Of The Year For 2014 Vintage Motorcycle Days

Riding the wave of momentum from Indian’s long-awaited revival, for 2014, Indian Motorcycles will be the marque of the year at this year’s Vintage Motorcycle Days (VMD), held at the historic Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, July 11-13. As this year’s celebrated marque, VMD will include special recognition, displays and race classes for historic Indian-brand motorcycles (including Indian “Motocycles” from the early days), as well as participation from the new Indian Motorcycle.
