Indian Indian Scout description
2016 Indian Scout COMES WITH SCOUT HELMET AND 2 YEAR MANUFACTURES WARRANTY
Compared to the average 2016 Cruiser, the Scout... Has a 12% smaller engine at 1,131cc ...Produces 6 more horsepower at 100hp...Is 99 lbs lighter wet at 558 lbs. This bike has a liquid-cooled, 1,131cc, DOHC, V-twin engine. Its 60mm throttle bodies – 13% bigger
than its competitors – allow the engine to breathe deeper and generate
more power. Fuel injection makes for effortless cold starts and smooth
power delivery. A cylinder bore and stroke of 99 x 74 mm makes this
motor oversquare: the bore (width) of the cylinder is greater than its
stroke (length). Oversquare engines excel at revving high and producing a
lot of power for their displacement, at the expense of low-end torque. Compared to the average 2016 Cruiser of any displacement, which weighs 657 lbs wet and 655 lbs dry, the Scout is: 99 lbs lighter wet (a 15% margin) 117 lbs lighter dry (a 18% margin) This Scout comes standard with fork front suspension. In the rear, a dual shock provides suspension. The Scout features a 6 -speed transmission equipped with a wet, multi-plate clutch. Front brakes on the Scout consist of a single 298mm, 2-piston disc. In
the rear, the system is made of a single, 1-piston disc measuring 298mm
in diameter.

According to Polaris’ first quarter report, its on-road vehicle division (which consists of the Victory and Indian motorcycle brands as well as electric vehicle brands GEM and Goupil) generated $64.7 million in sales revenue, compared to $44.9 million reported in the same quarter of 2011. Of course, the Polaris didn’t yet own Indian, GEM or Goupil during that quarter last year, so the figures are a bit misleading.
