1996 KTM 620 RXC, Australian engineering company KTM has been producing winning motorcycles like this one since 1954.Performance
The KTM 620 RXC all-terrain motorcycle came equipped with a 620 cubic-centimeter, single cylinder engine. This particular powerhouse featured a single, overhead-cam design. The motor's output was rated and advertised at 55 horsepower and 44.28 foot-pounds of torque. Starting capabilities were handled by a capacitor discharge ignition system, while a five-speed transmission was coupled with the motor.

Excel rims came fitted on the 620RXC series motorcycle, with the front wheels measuring 21x1.6 inches and the rear wheels measuring 18x2.15 inches. KTM issued this trail-ready bike with Michelin hard-terrain tires for maximum grip on any surface. A Marzocchi Magnum 45 fork was standard for the front suspension and the rear suspension was stuffed with an Ohlins single-shock.

Body
The orange and white paint scheme was not only available in the KTM 620RXC, but is common with most KTM cycles. Weight -- without fuel or other fluids -- was about 321 pounds.

The Moto GP 2 stroke era finally ends.

Thu, 04 Oct 2012

It might have been the fumes of the 40:1 fuel mix but I had a tear in my eye when the chequered flag came out for the last ever competitive two stroke race in the Moto GP paddock on Sunday at Aragon. With two riders on the sick list twenty two identical single cylinder KTM 125s buzzed round for fifteen laps of mayhem and sometimes eight abreast heading into the first and last corners. The sight, sound and smell were fantastic and the clean close racing was a fitting end to a very special era.
