KTM Other description

HERE'S YOUR CHANCE! My highly accessorized 2008 KTM 690 Enduro is for sale! Includes ALL the parts and pieces and custom fab work done to create this rally style workhorse, PLUS all the stock “take-off” parts. I built this bike to do the TransAmerica Trail earlier this year. No expense was spared to build this project and I have nearly $10k in it!! It currently has 17,000 miles and was just serviced by local KTM. The under-seat Rade Garage auxiliary fuel tank allows you to carry nearly 5 US gals WITHOUT sacrificing the width of the bike. Stock side panels used with rally fairing, so knee room while standing is great! Simply add a Rotopax on the rack and you've got 6 gallons of fuel capacity. I used this set up to do the TransAmerica Trail this year and didn't EVER need to worry about fuel. The Rade Garage rally kit is really slick. Matter of fact, the guy did a revision on the navigation tower mounting system and sent me the new kit, which is now installed on the bike. Bike also includes the Perun Moto billet rear rack and TourTech pannier racks and front engine case guards. Together these create an awesome protection package for the bike. I used the Mosko Moto Backcountry panniers and top case and it worked perfectly. You can also run hard cases on these racks too.

Here's a short list of the parts added...

·        Touratech, engine guards, pannier racks and bash plate

·        Rear brake disc and MC guards

·        Removed airbox, SAS and canister (SmartMoto kits)

·        FMF Q4 exhaust

·        KTM Twins Billet gas cap mod

·        Cycra hand guards

·        Oury Grips and KTM "donuts"

·        TM Designs chain guard

·        Hammerhead billet shifter

·        Perun Moto HD tank bolt upgrade

·        Perun Moto rear rack and extension

·        Rade Garage under seat Aux fuel tank

·        Rade Garage plug'n'play Rally fairing

·        Rade Garage billet lowered foot pegs

·        Cleanspeed Engineering billet pedal/stepped pad

·        Seat Concepts tall comfort seat

·        Motion Pro/KTMTwins extended throttle cables

·        BPR billet bars risers

·        Doubletake mirror / Ball mount

·        New DID chain

·        Radiator fan switch

·        Custom Orange/Black/Gray wrap w/ sponsor decals

**Just serviced and valves adjusted by local KTM dealer ($400)

ALL photos in this ad are from TODAY, so you can see even after the TAT trip, the bike still looks awesome! Bike has a few nicks and scrapes in the vinyl from the long, hard trip. Nothing very bad, but heck...it's a DIRT BIKE! Can be easily re-wrapped to anything you want and look factory fresh again! Lots of pics of the build and finished bike can be found on my website at "dualsportjunkies dot com" under the "bikes" tab. I'm in the Louisville KY area. Delivery can be arranged at buyer expense.

DO NOT make low ball offers!!! NO TRADES!! If you cannot buy it, don't contact me please!! Bike stays with me until fully paid. I will not crate for shipping. Plenty of shippers out there for "door to door" shipping. Also had success with the "Uship" shipping site. If you're looking for the perfect long distance OFF ROAD enduro that can still go 80mph on the highway comfortably, this is it!!

KTM Announces 2014 AMA Supercross

Tue, 03 Dec 2013

KTM announced its 2014 AMA Supercross team, with reigning 250SX West Champion Ken Roczen joining Ryan Dungey on the 450 class team. The two will form a formidable one-two punch for the Red Bull KTM factory team as it hopes to unseat three-time champion Ryan Villopoto of Kawasaki. “Next year’s competition is going to be tough with several young, fast and talented riders entering the 450 class,” says Dungey who has finished third for three straight seasons after winning the title in 2010.

Bodachs on bikes

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

With the Gaelic for ‘old man’ being Bodach it was only right we call our annual has been Scottish Racers run out 'Bodachs on Bikes'.  The gang now includes names from the past like Morrison, MacPherson, Simpson and Duffus with a Robert Burns and Big Gordo thrown in for good measure. Island hopping was on the agenda this time round, so for £60 we acquired a Caledonian Macbrayne Hopscotch ticket allowing us three ferry crossings between the mainland, Skye and Lewis.  Having heard lots of good stuff about the new KTM 1190 Adventure I thought this could be the perfect bike for the journey so managed to book Loughborough’s Redline KTM’s demo out for a week.  My first stint was an uneventful 400 miles north but with an average of 250 miles range per tank and 80s club classics on the i pod it felt like I was there in no time.  I also kept myself amused scrolling through the easy to navigate countless combinations of engine performance, traction/anti wheelie and suspension settings clearly displayed on the dash.  There seems to be a setting for everyone; luggage or no luggage, big guy or small guy, brave or scared ( no rider aids or full rider aids).  After assembling in the holiday town of Helensburgh on day two, we rode up around the coast on the A82, A85 and A828 to Ballachulish.  A quick puddle jump across Loch Linnhe then saw us heading round the A861 to Strontian before going north to Mallaig.
