Kawasaki KH400 S3 description

CLEAN, CLEAR PENNA. TITLE IN MY NAME!

Be sure to read all the way to the bottom, as I'll probably be adding info during the listing.

Here's a late-production Kaw 400 triple. Title says 1977, but I'm not so sure they made '77s. It's probably a '76. It's sitting in the back line of my one shed right now and I can't get to it to look at the VIN tag without moving 3 other bikes. Go by the VIN #.

The bodywork has been painted, not to a concours standard by any means. The gas tank is clean inside. It has some lumps/bumps/unevenness on the right side. I think it has some bondo there, probably a result of the spill that's evident in damage to the brake pedal and the right pipes (see pics). Seat obviously needs to be recovered. Left side cover has a repaired crack at the top front corner.

As you can see in the pics, the major chrome parts are really nice. The bars, fenders and wheel rims are pretty much like-new. The pipes are shiny, but have some dings and scrapes. Everything electrical works properly, as do the brakes. It starts right up and runs strongly and smoothly...EXCEPT FOR ONE MAJOR ISSUE.

I bought this thinking it would be a modest money-maker, but it turned out I got hosed by a somewhat-less-than-honest seller. (Or hosed myself by not riding it before buying it.) It turned out that this "everything works, ready to ride" (from his CL ad) bike has a whining/chattering noise in 5th gear that doesn't sound good at all. Everything's fine in the 4 lower gears, but as soon as you shift into 5th you get the noise. I only rode it a couple miles. I have no idea what it is or what it will take to fix it.

So now I'm just hoping to get my money back out of it. I figured Ebay was the best place to get whatever it might be worth, so here it is. If it sells for the opening bid, I break even monetarily after tax/title/Ebay fees. Now the legalese: A non-refundable deposit of $100 via PayPal is required within 24 hours of the auction's end. Remainder to be paid in cash on pickup or bank wire transfer. NO PAYPAL FOR THE TOTAL! This is being sold as "Local Pickup Only" - buyer is responsible for making and paying for any and all shipping arrangements. I will work with your shipper, and if necessary can haul/deliver it within about 200 miles for $1.00 per loaded mile. I can deliver it to AMA Vintage Days in Mid-Ohio for $250. (It's a 360-mile trip.) The time frame of the auction's end vs. my leaving for Mid-Ohio at oh-dark-thirty on Thurs. the 7th may complicate things if you DON'T want it delivered there, because I'll be unable to do any delivery/meeting-halfway, etc. next week. Ask any questions BEFORE bidding, please, and GOOD LUCK!

Kawasaki Z250 SL Launched In Asia

Wed, 30 Apr 2014

Kawasaki, today, launched the long-awaited streetfighter version of the Ninja 250 in Asia. Dubbed the Z250 SL (Super Lightweight), some may call it the baby Z1000. That nickname, while fitting, is already reserved for the standard Z250, which draws a middle ground in terms of riding position (and amount of plastic) between the Z250 SL and the supersport Ninja 250.  Designed for the sports-minded urban commuter, Kawasaki heralds this lighter, racier alternative to the Z250 as the perfect companion for someone looking for Ninja-based performance, quick, nimble handling, and aggressive ergonomics.

AMA Supercross: 2012 Las Vegas Results

Mon, 07 May 2012

Ryan Dungey scored his fourth win of the season but it was not enough to take second place in the points race behind champion Ryan Villopoto. That honor went to JGRMX Yamaha‘s Davi Millsaps who placed second to Dungey in the season-ending race at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. Dungey took the holeshot and led every lap to take the win for Red Bull KTM.
