Kawasaki KLR description

1993 Kawasaki KLR650

Up for grabs is a 1993 Kawasaki KLR650.  It's a great bike, fun to ride, and very reliable.  However since the baby came it just sits and is not getting ridden and is taking up valuable real estate in my garage.  It's in fair shape for a 20 year old motorcycle.  It's got some dings and scratches and won't win any beauty pageants but has never had a mechanical issue since I've had it.  It fires right up every time with little or no choke.  The only issue I've had was the battery was getting weak so I just put a brand new battery in it today so you won't have to worry about it.  I have the receipt for the warranty.  They made these bikes basically unchanged from 1987-2007 so parts are plentiful and cheap if you ever need something for it.  I am including a brand new Clymer Service Manual with the bike.  As with all 20 year old bikes there are going to be a few issues.  Last time I took this bike out on the trails the speedometer cable broke so the speedo currently doesn't work, cheap fix and I would've done it myself but I honestly forgot about it.  The sensor that controls the neutral light is finicky so the green neutral light pretty much stays on all the time even when in other gears.  Doesn't bother me and if you need a neutral light to tell you you're in neutral you probably shouldn't be on a motorcycle anyway.  One of the rear turn signals is cracked so I put a fancy electrical tape repair on it, new turn signals are about $20 a pair on ebay.  Sometimes when the bike is hot and you park it in the garage it will drip a few drops of oil. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, but it never drips any when the bike is not hot.  I have to add about a half quart every six months so the leak is minimal and honestly I didn't see it cost effective to fix.  Other than the couple little things mentioned above everything functions 100% as it should.  All turn signals, horn, hi/low beams, kill switch, transmission, gauges, etc all work fine.  The bike has always passed emissions just fine so if you live in CA or AZ don't worry.  Cost of ownership is dirt cheap on these bikes.  I can't remember the exact cost to register it but it was extremely cheap and I only pay $66 a year for insurance on it.  I've bought a lot of vehicles on ebay and nothing is more annoying than when somebody goes out of their way to say everything works and when you go to pick it up that's when you find out that there's a half dozen things that don't function.  I've tried to include a 100% accurate description so nobody will be disappointed.  Check my feedback, I have over 9 years and 15,000 transactions on ebay.  A $300 deposit will be due within 24 hours of auction close and the remainder to be paid via cash at time of pickup within 7 days of auction close.  Bike is for local pickup only in Mesa, AZ.  Please feel free to ask any questions.  Thanks.
