Kawasaki KLX description

1996 Kawasaki KLX 650 Dual Purpose, Liquid Cooled, 4Stroke, Single Cyl Thumper. This is a KLX not a KLR, this a factory dual purpose version of KLX dirt bike. The KLX has more power than KLR!!

I bought this bike from original owner, who purchased it in CA. The bike had 3800 miles when I bought it and now has 10,634 miles. This is a great bike which is practical and fun. This bike is currently licensed and is ready to hit the road.

Since I bought the bike I have replaced/installed:

Choke Valve, Chain, Brakes, Fork Seals, Battery, Tires, Grips and Dyno Jet Carb Kit. I also had bike dyno tuned when carb kit was installed, it dynoed 51 hp!! I bought the bike for short commutes to save on gas expense. Lately, I have been riding it to school, which is 54 miles 1 way. It will cruise easliy at 65-70mph with plenty extra for passing.(It will hit 85-90 quick!)

It averages about 49mpg with my best being 56mpg. Front Tire is 80% and Rear is 35%. The seat has a small piece of cover loose and the original owner did not like the factory seat color, so he painted it black...this is coming off and origianal color is noticable. There are cosmetic scratches and fading but bike is solid and dependable.

It seeps a few drops of oil from drain plug. Maybe a 1inch spot over a week.... I just like to disclose all details, because I  dont like to find things out after the sale either.

But overall a great dependable bike, which is practical, powerful, usable and affordable.

Im selling it because my GF is concerned for my safety...over gas savings.  My loss your gain.
