We have taken a 2015 Kawasaki Versys 1000LT and turned it into an adventure style bike, ready to go anywhere!! This bike started off as more of the sport touring, but with many upgrades make it much more versatile. The obvious being the Continental TKC80 knobby tires giving more options to just paved roads. Traction control will help keep things under control on the dirt and gravel roads while still handling great on pavement. Other additions to the bike include SW-Motech skid plate, crash bars and Trax Evo aluminum side cases with Quick-lock side carrier mounting, MRA Vario Touring smoked adjustable wind screen, R&G Racing radiator screen. Garmin Montana 610 Navigator and Two Brothers Racing S1R Carbon Slip-on exhaust. I've been playing around with video cameras in the office here for a good year with varying degress of success. The GoPro we use is great - when it's behaving. But I've had too many sessions where it doesn't like the SD card I fed it, the batteries die as you're leaving pit lane or you record a perfect lap, but with the camera pointing at the sky, or the tank.

This past weekend, Brammo arrived to Sonoma Raceway in Central California ready to do battle. Only this time the electric sportbike manufacturer would be trading blows not with other electric bikes, but with their ICE counterparts at the second round of the American Federation of Motorcyclists series — one of the oldest club racing organizations in the country. We recently mentioned Brammo’s eligibility with AFM, and this weekend was the first outing. Team Icon Brammo and its two riders Eric Bostrom and Steve Atlas competed on the Empulse RR machines while third rider, Shelina Moreda, rode the Team Parker Brammo Empulse TTX — a modified version of the road-legal Empulse.

Dennis Charlett is stamping his authority on the New Zealand Superbike championship. The 45 year-old father of five and grandfather of three (no, those aren’t typos) won the first three races of the season during the series opener in Christchurch, placing him firmly at the top of the points standings heading into round two at Levels Raceway, near Timaru. The championship favorite certainly got the wake-up call as Taupo’s Suzuki rider Scott Moir raced to a convincing win in Saturday’s Superbike race, while Charlett was forced to settle for fourth place.
