Kawasaki KX description

1980 -DG- KX125

--no reserve auction--

1980 KX125 -DG Package Racer - Fully restored to its original and 'as raced' condition using as many of the original parts as possible. Ready to race or show. Real deal DG package racer. Ultra rare---collectible but built to race. Boost bottle intake system is a rare DG item and super trick. Gold finned high compression DG head, vintage DG coned pipe, DG silencer, DG ported cylinder. Answer gold anodized chromeoly bars, 'Bob Hannah' bend. Custom DG graphics on very nice original tank. This bike has been completely restored and looks great. New seat & cover, and we kept all ORIGINAL plastic and restored to new. Front number plate is a vintage JT Racing vented piece. Very few DG bikes were built using a Kawasaki, making this bike extremely rare. In excellent shape with new Bridgestone/Kenda tires, new tubes, new controls, new Oury grips, new OEM cables, new Sidewinder sprockets, new DID Gold series chain, etc. etc.

The bike runs great. Starts easy and is truly FAST! It's a rocket! Suspension rebuilt front & rear with all new seals & oil in forks, and new seal head & oil w/nitrogen charge in shock. It's an 'expert level' race machine.

1980 was cutting edge for motocross, as the KX line was the first to go with production single shock rear suspension. Dubbed 'Uni-Track' this was a very successful departure from all the other twin shock bikes still being produced. Most of the other mfgrs. wouldn't go single shock until 1981, making the KX line quite unique. DG wanted to take advantage of this new platform, and as far as I know this was the first time DG offered aftermarket performance parts for a Kawasaki. In all my years of searching this is the one and only KX package racer I've ever seen.

I INCLUDED 4 PHOTOS OF THE BIKE AS I FOUND IT. I did this so you could see that it was indeed an original package racer, and not a bike that I had just put together in order to create one. ALL PLASTIC IS THE ORIGINAL KX OEM PLASTIC THAT HAS BEEN RESTORED AND POLISHED. VERY RARE!!!

See photos & use ZOOM feature please.  This is your best way to determine it's actual condition.

This bike is also for sale on my website AzMikesVMXbikes.com, and I reserve the right to end auction early with an acceptable offer.

$250.00 deposit due within 24hrs of auction end. Balance to be paid in full either upon pick up with cash, or in advance with check or bank wire transfer. Bike does not leave my possession until paid in full and all funds have cleared. Balance due within 7 days of final purchase.

Bike is sold in used and as-is condition with no warrantees or guarantees of any kind offered. This is a used vintage off road racing motorcycle, but buyer must know there will still be items needed to replace or correct by buyer, prior to buyer riding or racing this machine. At the very least --- new fuel, carb cleaned, and fresh oil needs to be installed in both gearbox and injection unit. Bike has been unused for many years so please give the entire bike a thorough RACE PREP prior to riding or racing it.

No Title. Bike sold on bill of sale if so desired. Mileage is an estimate. See photos for condition.

2014 WSBK – Assen Results

Mon, 28 Apr 2014

Heavy rains and a fortuitous red flag were the difference in the World Superbike Championship‘s visit to The Cathedral of motorcycle racing, the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. Aprilia‘s Sylvain Guintoli captured his second win of the season in Race 1, which was halted early by a red flag with five laps to go just as it looked like reigning WSBK champion Tom Sykes was gearing up for a final challenge. The second race was also shortened, not by a red flag but because of a rain, turning the 21-lap race into a 10-lap sprint.

Seeley On Form On First Night Of North West 200

Fri, 16 May 2014

Alastair Seeley took a double in the Ballymoney Borough council Supersport and Pirtek Superstock events at the start of racing at the Vauxhall International North West 200 this evening, what many “real” road racers refer to as the precursor to the Isle Of Man TT. In the Supersport race, the ‘Wee Wizard’ survived being caught up in a first lap crash at York hairpin that left him languishing in 16th to come through and win the opening race of the night on his Mar-Train Yamaha R6. Lee Johnston was the rider who went down in the first lap crash, causing Seeley to take evasive action to avoid going down himself.
