Kawasaki KX description

Whats up folks. I am selling a near mint very low hour and stock 1991 Kawasaki KX500 Motocross bike. This bike is clean, mostly unmolested and was a California Desert bike.  Hard to find them like this. Clean, low hour stocker.

Here are some notes and descriptive bits:
  • Not much frame rub
  • No hard hits under the frame
  • Clean title in hand
  • Nice good plastic and seat
  • Motor appears to have never been apart
  • Owners manual and a clean CA title is in hand
  • Fork slider guards were removed, but forks are in great shape (no roost damage at all). They are still available from Kawi and the aftermarket
  • Strong runner
  • Pro Taper Bars and clamps
  • Pro Circuit Pipe, spark arrester
  • Bike is currently garaged in San Diego Area but I can ship anywhere
  • Bike is for sale locally, hit me up if you are interested
Please look carefully at photos, what you see is what you get!

The boring stuff (but please read):
Shipping: I can assist with shipping or you are free to organize your own. I can currently ship insured (with a $500 deductible) and enclosed anywhere in the USA for $525. If you live in Maine, Long Island or the Florida keys there is a surcharge, but outside of that, the shipping rate is $525 to anywhere in the lower 48.

I can and will ship international, but the buyer must coordinate this, as the process can be cumbersome. I will assist as best as possible and do have really good access to shippers to the UK, Europe  and Australia. I can also ship to the middle east as well. But please note that all paperwork will be handled by the buyer.

Seller Notes:
  • If you are a serious buyer and have the money in hand, I am happy to talk to you on the phone about whatever questions or interest you have in the bikes. But please, no time wasters or tire kickers.
  • If you are a serious buyer, it is available to be shown, but I am not looking for tire kickers or time wasters. The bike is located in Northern California.
Payment: A $500 non refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of closing, or a friendly phone call or clear email on who you are and how you intend to close the deal. I am very easy to work with, but a little clear communication goes a long way with me. Paypal is fine for deposit, but the fee and commission they take is very high.  We will take payment however is easiest for you for to send, as we understand that some buyers might be out of the country. Cash, bank to bank payment, bank check, Paypal, WU, Carrier Pidgin - whatever - but as long as it clears our bank and you are not playing the Nigerian lottery with me, I could care less how it comes. Just make sure it comes when you say it will come.

My bikes are always for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the listing at any time if a local buyer comes forward.

In case you are wondering anything about me as a seller, I have been on eBay since 1998 (thats over 18 years) and have not one negative feedback. I am just a nut for older dirt bikes and ATV's from the 1980's. I have a nice collection of bikes that I have built up over 15 years of collecting and messing about. I have several others that I am selling, including several 85 - 86 250r's and 350x's, as well as some Fourtrax TRX250r stuff. I am clearing out some bikes to make room for other projects.

See my other listings for some more of my stuff, but I doubt I will get around to listing all of them.

The TT800 From Deus Ex Machina

Wed, 16 Jul 2014

Deus Ex Machina, the surf/moto shop known for creating throwback, one-of-a-kind motorcycles, has released its latest work of art, the TT800. Paying tribute to the highly successful Triumph factory TT machines from the mid-1960s, Deus’ expert builder, Michael Woolaway, created the TT800 for a customer requesting a new, old Triumph. It sources a Kawasaki W650 bored out to 800cc with CR carbs, a custom TT inspired exhaust, custom chromoly racing frame, re-valved Öhlins forks, and a custom gusseted swing arm for more stability. A Beringer six-piston caliper front brake provides stopping power.

Kawasaki And Costco Continue Referral Program

Fri, 19 Jul 2013

Pedestrian Costco members may have seen the Kawasaki motorcycles on display within the giant warehouses. Motorcycle riding Costco shoppers certainly did. The effort is part of referral program originally developed for automobile purchases. And now, after two successful years, Kawasaki and Costco are renewing their partnership.

ZX-10R. Worth the weight?

Thu, 18 Nov 2010

The whisper on pit lane is that 2011 will be a good year for the green K. Our moles within the racing circles tell us that apart from more power and less weight (always handy), the new ZX-10R's main advantage is not these two factors but rather its improved weight distribution, weight transference qualities and grip levels. Studying Tom Syke's lap time data from Kawasaki's public test sessions it seems it's much easier for him to maintain consistent fast lap times back-to-back over the whole range of tyre degradation and fuel load changes.
