Kawasaki KZ1300 description

You are bidding on a first year, 1979 Kawasaki KZ1300 6 cylinder touring motorcycle!

These were expensive and not many were sold, making this a somewhat uncommon motorcycle!

This bike has been off the road since 1987, and has been stored indoors since then. It only has 21,000 original miles, and has lots of life left in it.

I have had the carburetors completely rebuilt, put new plugs and wires and a new battery in it, and the engine runs great!!!

The brakes were frozen on the calipers, so it will need brake work to be inspectable. The front bonnet and fairing with headlight bucket and cassette player are off the bike, but present. It will need some small things like a new air filter, etc. It will not take much to make this street worthy. Since it is not completely roadworthy at this point, it is being sold for restoration purposes only.

The bike is in Epping, NH (Seacoast) and it was last registered in NH in 1987. I can get a title from the state DMV if required (at your cost), or if your state requires previous registration and bill of sale, I can register the bike (at your cost) and give you a bill of sale. Otherwise, it will be sold with a bill of sale as that is all that is required in NH for vehicles over 15 years old.

Bike will need to be picked up in Epping, NH and trailered to your location. Good old American moolah is required at the time of pick up. I can store it for a period of time, as long as it has been paid for in advance.

Recall for 2009-2010 Kawasaki KLX250

Tue, 05 Jul 2011

Kawasaki is recalling some 2009-2010 KLX250 models due to a risk of leaky fuel tanks. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the fuel tank on affected motorcycles may not be in contact with the frame-mounted rubber dampers designed to support the front of the tank, and the tank side mounting tabs may have excessive clearance from from the frame. As a result, spot-welded sections along the side tabs may be under excessive stress, potentially resulting in cracking and a fuel leak.

Early this year, thousands of drag racers chased the dream and entered Kawasaki’s nationally-promoted “Zero to Hero Challenge,” hoping for the opportunity to face-off against multi-time champion Rickey Gadson and take home a new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R. Both cable networks will treat viewers to an inside look at the process all contestants went through on their way to challenging Gadson on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway drag strip in May.

Kawasaki Celebrates 40th Anniversary of Z1

Mon, 16 Apr 2012

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the ground-breaking Kawasaki Z1 which made its public debut in 1972, becoming what many would regard as the world’s first superbike. Kawasaki’s first large-capacity four-stroke multi-cylinder motorcycle took center stage at the 1972 IFMA, the precursor to the INTERMOT show in Cologne, Germany. Together with the Honda CB750, the Kawasaki Z1 helped spearhead the popularity of the Japanese Inline-Four.
