2013 Long Beach International Motorcycle Show Report
Fri, 06 Dec 2013Today the motorcycle press descended upon the Long Beach Convention Center to attend media day at the annual International Motorcycle Show. After feasting from a continental breakfast buffet the discerning journalists set to the task of reporting on the bounty of new model motorcycles – most of which has been previously showcased in our November EICMA reporting. Thu, 22 Aug 2013We met up with Adam Extance motocross champ and son of five time Dakar finisher Mick Extance, whilst on one of their Kawasaki Motocross Experience days in Mansfield. Adam took the Ghost for a lap chasing Bridgestone sponsored 15 year old Rob Yates, a motocross rising star for 2014. Full camera review to follow.
WSBK 2013: Portimao Race Report
Mon, 10 Jun 2013Marco Melandri and Eugene Laverty split a pair of victories at Portugal’s Portimao circuit while Sylvain Guintoli took advantage of some misfortune to his championship rivals to increase his lead in the 2013 World Superbike Championship standings. Guintoli has been leading or sharing the lead in the championship since winning the first race of Round 1 in Australia, but amazingly continues to lead despite having just that single victory after six rounds. The Aprilia rider has accomplished this through his consistency (Guintoli leads all racers with nine podium finishes in 12 races) and ability to finish each race (he’s the only rider in the top seven without a DNF).
