I've resuscitated a 1979 KZ400-B1 that spent the last 30 years in the original owner's garage. It's in beautiful, original, condition with 2,362 miles and all accessories, including engine guards, backrest & rack, and clear plastic windshield (not shown). Original tool kit, receipts and owners manual included. I installed a new battery, flushed the gearbox, unclogged and cleaned the carbs and replaced the intake hangers, gaskets and O-rings, I had the spokes tightened and wheels trued while replacing the tires. All rubber components are surprisingly pliable. Cleaning this bike up was like going back in time. She runs beautifully, too.
It's missing the air cleaner cap, a metal tray that covers the filter and hold the tool kit. It's P/N 11012-1004. The original owner probably took it off for increased air flow. Small ding in the gas tank. Otherwise, absolutely gorgeous. The bike is ready for sale. I'd like to get it in the hands of someone who has a personal attachment to the KZ family of bikes. FIM Updates Superbike Racing Homologation Lists for 2013
Tue, 19 Feb 2013The International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) has released an updated list of motorcycles homologated for the 2013 Superbike, Supersport, and Superstock racing season. Notable additions include the new BMW S1000RR HP4, the MV Agusta F3 and the Superbike-spec Ducati 1199 Panigale R. To qualify a production-based racebike for FIM homologations, manufacturers have to meet certain production thresholds.
