Kawasaki Other description

The Concours is a stable sport-touring motorcycle with legendary reliability and practicality.

Purchased from first owner in 2010 at 10,000 miles with aftermarket handlebar risers, manual throttle lock, LED brake lights, and Cee Bailey smoke tinted windscreen already installed. First owner was also a careful rider who did full interval services as recommended.

The Cee Bailey had a lip on it that produced helmet buffeting for me and more so for passenger. So one important upgrade was Rifle windscreen that is has no helmet issues for driver or passenger. Other modifications include highway pegs, GIVI large top case - two helmets fit inside! Right after taking ownership I installed Steve Sefsick's 7th gear and performance fuel injection modifications, original documentation provided. Added Dale Walker HoleShot mufflers at the same time, now about 10,000 miles on these modifications. The 7th gear is a fantastic modification that doesn't add a 7th gear, but by changing cog(?) size makes gear spacing about 10% higher so RPM lower at highway speeds, and keeps you from "looking for 7th gear". I was tired of the gold "old man's" color, and so had the whole bike professionally painted in Kawasaki "metallic spark black" in 2014. Added European style twin headlights in 2013.

I have changed the oil every 2,000 miles or 6 months with full synthetic motorcycle oil. Valves were last checked around 16,000 miles. Battery was changed in 2015. I have ridden the bike year 'round, not as much in the winter, but still once every couple weeks. Has never sat idle/unused. Have taken a few longer weekend trips, but primarily commute to & from work 15-20 miles each way. Handles very well on highway for longer distances.

A few scuffs on saddlebag from driveway tip-over. No accidents, no surprises.

Kawasaki Z1000 ABS Back For 2015

Wed, 10 Sep 2014

The Kawasaki Z1000 is nothing if not attention-grabbing, and for 2015 it will be back in Kawasaki’s lineup of motorcycles. Team Green calls it “Sugomi” styling, which combines its sculpted shape – invoking a crouching predator – with painstaking details like its special “Z” ignition key, machined aluminum steering stem bolt and the intricate “Z” motif seat cover. This is wrapped in a new color scheme for 2015 that combines Golden Blazed Green with Metallic Spark Black to create a dramatic motorcycle.

2014 AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship On The Line At Pomona

Fri, 10 Oct 2014

Granted, flat track racing isn’t our specialty at MO, but we’re no doubt fans of the action. See our coverage from the 2012 season finale for proof. The following is from an AMA Pro Racing press release: A total of 15 races over eight months couldn’t separate Jared Mees and Bryan Smith by much.
