Kawasaki Other description

Up for sale is my Titanium/Gray 2005 Kawasaki ZX10R. Serving honorably as my fourth sportbike over the last thirteen years I've been riding, it has 19,141 glorious miles and has never been augmented, wrecked, stunted or dragged. While it's been garaged for pretty much the duration of it's time with me, I'm not going to say the bike has been washed with diapers and treated like a baby, or that I changed the oil over 1000 mis; because it hasn't. It's a machine built for speed and by God I've made sure she fulfilled that purpose. She's still in good condition though, save a bit of rash on the right side from a slip I took after hitting a small oil slick on cold tires. As you can see from from the photos that it's nothing crazy, just a bit of cosmetic touch up and she'll be good as new. She just has some character, that's all. There are few additions that were made to the bike as well:Steel-braided brake lines (front & rear)OEM Steering DampenerCarbon Fiber Akrapovic Slip-op exhaust (tag came of in my spill)Blue LED Integrated Signal Tail-light KitPower Commander III (original mapping)I will also include a Black Scorpion Helmet with the in-set visor and the Rear Axle-stand with it as well. The helmet still has the "new helmet" smell to it, as I rarely wore it after I bought my AGV. The exhaust gives the bike a clean look and a resoundingly deep, throaty growl that tends to command attention at traffic lamps and going under overpasses. If you decide to get it above 8200RPM and into her power-band, strap in and be prepared to get a run for your money. In capable hands, she's ultra stable in turns and the steering dampener will give you a sense of confidence you can literally feel on the road. Other than that, the bike remains all stock, including the gearing, so there's still a considerable amount of room to customize her if you see fit. I just changed the oil, replaced the filter, put a brand new battery in and have always ridden on Michelin Pilot Powers (120 front, beefy 190 in the back). The front tire is brand-new (literally still has the nubs on it, as of right now) and the back tire still has a lot of remaining tread, but the left leading edge got chewed up a little from the chain before I realized that it needed tightening. Shouldn't impact handling or traction performance at all unless you're leaning into the last 1/8" of rubber in a mean left turn and, if you are, you should probably have track tires on anyway :). Overall, she's a solid machine that, properly taken care of, has a LOT more life and fun-times to offer. Especially if you decide you need a fun weekend toy, or a solid performer for a Track bike, she won't let you down. Here's a little blurb from an article on the machine, in case you're interested. "It was the strongest, lightest over-the-counter literbike in the world a half-dozen years ago. And despite a brutal, unforgiving character along with a few rough edges, Kawasaki's 1st ZX-10R is still 1 of the best. It's hard to argue with 162 rear-wheel horsepower in a 433-pound package, so don't. This 1 goes from green light to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds, covering a quarter-mile in 10.06 seconds at 145.3 mph. Add aggressive steering geometry leading a stubby, 54.5-inch wheelbase and you have a ruthless precision instrument that rewards anyone with superior skills-and scares the pee out of everybody else."Read more: http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/howto/smart_money/122_1007_2004_2005_kawasaki_zx10r/#ixzz2mLadO2Mp:::::::::: ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::NITTY GRITTY::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::TEST DRIVES: There are none. I've seen those State Farm Commercials and I want to be protected from Mayhem, like that 1 guy. You may turn it on, stare at it and/or caress her all you like....but once you put it in gear and/or drive/move it more than 10 ft, IT'S YOURS and the cash tender you brought with you is mine. Since it would make sense to meet at a bank for checking the validity of your funds that you brought with you anyway, I will ride the bike there and leave it running while we look it over together, thus showing that it is in as-described working condition. THERE IS NO WARRANTY INCLUDED or IMPLIED: NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES. ALL sales are final. I can't imagine why you'd want to give her back anyway. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::TERMS & CONDITIONS (PLEASE READ)::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::This is a CASH ONLY, LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY kind of deal. I will not, under any circumstances, ship to your cousin who is conveniently on a Peace Corps mission in Bangladesh, God bless their altruistic souls. If you're getting them a birthday gift, buy the bike and ship it yourself. Or, just look at the CL posting opportunities in Bangladesh! :NOTE: BY CONTACTING ME IN ANY WAY FORM OR FASHION with the aforementioned sort of inquiry means that you fully understand and automatically agree to give me $1,000,000USD without expecting anything in return or trade, and to also agree to physically accost yourself, (preferably open-handed and to the left or right cheek in the facial region. Foreheads are acceptable as well) for even asking. If you can't afford that amount, I will settle for 10% of that, and once payment clears I may just give you the bike anyway, along with a thank you note.FOR CASH BUYERS - We're still going to the bank to confirm the money, especially if it's all 100's. Feel free to bring an armed escort as well, but compensation will be out of your own pocket. For MONEY ORDER/CASHIERS CHECKS - Again, we're going to the bank to confirm the validity of the piece of paper denoting that it's worth $4,250.00. Feel free to call or text me at 4.80.86.1.0.4.55; email is just as good. I'm pretty firm on the price because it's a great machine, but if you've got cash-in-hand, make an offer and maybe we'll talk. Single-Cylinder Kawasaki Ninja Spotted in Indonesia

Tue, 31 Dec 2013

Based solely on recent history, you’d think the engineers at Kawasaki are strong believers of the “bigger is better” philosphy. You need only look at the Ninja ZX-6R which shook off the shackles of the 600cc supersport segment with a 636cc displacement, then came the Ninja 300 replacing the 250. New spy photos from Indonesia, however suggest there’s still room for smaller engines from Team Green.

Mackenzie Tricker Looks To Pad WMX Points Lead At Glen Helen Raceway Sunday

Thu, 10 Apr 2014

Having won the opening two rounds of the 2014 Women’s Motocross Championship (WMX) – at the AMA sanctioned Ricky Carmichael Amateur Supercross at Daytona International Speedway in Florida, and at the James Stewart Freestone Spring Championship in Wortham, Texas, Australia’s Mackenzie Tricker comes into this weekend’s race at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California, with momentum on her side and a 17-point lead in the series standings. Round three of the Women’s Motocross Championship (WMX) will run in conjunction with the FMF California Classic, which runs from April 9 through April 13, with both WMX motos taking place on Sunday. So far, Tricker has won three of the four motos held to date, and the Yamaha-backed rider is hoping to pad her lead in the series standings with a good finish this weekend.

Video: Riding the 2011 MSS Kawasaki ZX-10 Superbike racer

Thu, 10 Mar 2011

A long time ago a man – some would say living legend – taught me how to ride a speedway bike. In Scandinavian tinged English he told me that the heart of riding a speedway bike was the relationship between my heart and the centre nut of the top yoke. Like a primitive cave dweller, he beat his heart with his fist while he explained this theory whilst his other hand gripped the top yoke.
