Kawasaki Other description

 FUN! FUN! FUN!

Here is a twin pair of - STREET LEGAL - 1979 Kawasaki KV75 Mini Trail Bikes -

I have built custom wiring harnesses with keyed ignition switches and added batteries, horns, charging systems and fitted turn signals to make these bikes street legal.  Bikes have been inspected by the California CHP and street licenses and plates have been issued by the CA DMV for both bikes.  They will cruise comfortable at 35MPH and keep up with traffic accelerating. Bikes are equipped with oil injection systems so mixed fuel is NOT required.  These bikes are equipped with three speed transmissions with an automatic clutch. The 75cc two-stroke engines produce very good power and are much faster than comparable Honda CT70's and are even faster than a Honda CT110 that I own.

Both bikes had low time when I purchased them and still had the original tires on them.

I have done the following to them:

1) Replaced tires, tubes and wheel bearings
2) Replaced drive chains
3) Rebuild carburetors
4) Replaced Air Filters
5) Checked points and timing
6) Painted and cleaned gas tanks
7) General cleanup and some paint touchup
8) Replaced shift levers
9) Replaced two handlebar switches and replaced brake levers.
10) Added 6v sealed batteries and rectifiers to the electrical system to charge batteries
11) Added keyed Ignition switches and brake light switches to both brakes to operate the brake light
12) Added 6v horns
13) Replaced weak stock rear shocks with heavier duty shocks better suited to adult riders
14) Changed stock gearing for better street operation (higher gearing)
15) Replaced oil lines, gas lines, flushed oil tanks and bled oil injection pumps.

PLUS many other small details!

Both bikes run as new and are an absolute blast to ride around town together - perfect for those quick trips to the store!!

These bikes are not restored and not in perfect cosmetic condition - there are some scrapes and scuffs, nicks etc., on the frames fenders etc.  They are in pretty nice condition though and look very good.  It would take very little to make them perfect, but as is,  they look great.

AMA Pro Racing Announces Basic Twins Flat Track Class for 2014 Season

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

AMA Pro Racing announced a new class for Flat Track racing designed to provide a new stepping stone for up-and-coming Pro-licensed racers, replacing the Pro Singles class in 2014. The new class, to be called Basic Twins, is more or less a revival of the Basic Expert Twins division that ran during the 2007 and 2008 seasons, but dropped when the Pro Singles class was introduced for 2009. The new class will give young racers a chance to showcase their skills on Twins, easing their transition to eventually enter the Grand National Expert Twins class.
