Norton Atlas description

My heart aches to write this but....Have kids they said.....It'll be fun they said.....

I'm selling a rather awesome Norton Feathebed frame tank (fuel oil) swing arm seat pan assy as is. , I was going to put together a high end Triton but I have had kids since then.

The frame is numbered and one if the numbers seems to be over-stamped at the factory. There was no effort to conceal this whatsoever. The frame was an original slimline Featherbed but a had some work done to it by a professional firm (Framecrafters, Il..check them out, they do top work specializing in racing. I had them customize the frame, putting on the Manx style sub section and strengthen the head stock whilst keeping the feather-beds original geometry. All work was done on a jig, all welds are nice.

This thing is nice folks!, no made in India stuff here (no offence). The Alloy tank was hand built in the UK, the box section swing arm i bought from Dave Degens (Mr. Triton) myself in the UK. The oil tank was hand built for the bike from Frame Crafters. The seat and rear faring were hand made as well.

I know how much time and money i have into this, and i know these are becoming harder to find. All the leg work is done, no expense spared here. The hard part is over. All the original mountings on the frame are there and after market adapter plates are readily available.

I will entertain offers, but Im not desperate to sell.

As far as shipping goes, its not packed up yet, i know the frame weighs about 40 lbs, tank and the rest of the bits prob another 20? so say 60 lbs 48Lx18Wx36H approx? I will gladly pack up free of charge and pass to a courier. I will pack up and ship internationally at cost, but please contact me first regarding this. It will take me some time to box up and make ready for shipment. I would much rather the buyer arranges shipping, especially international.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need more pics, the frame comes with a bill of sale only.

Prince William The Duke Of Ducs And Other Motorcycles

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, visited Britain’s largest motorcycle show, Motorcycle Live, at the National Exhibition Center in Birmingham. The visit saw the Duke astride numerous motorcycle models including UK icons Norton and Triumph as well as a Ducati 1199 Superleggera (one of the few men able to afford the $70,000 rarity). During his visit Prince William enjoyed a display of off-road riding – one of nine opportunities for visitors to ride at Motorcycle Live, eight of which are inside the halls of the NEC. He also met Dean Linehan, exhibitions director of MCI Exhibitions, the company that organizes the annual motorcycle exhibition.

Bonneville from a parallel universe

Fri, 20 Sep 2013

This is the Triumph Speed Twin Concept, a bike commissioned by Triumph to show what the Bonneville might have evolved into, in a parallel universe. I love the concept. Designed by Roy Norton and Tom Kasher who were on a placement at a design studio, I get the impression the pair are into motorcycle and not just designers.
