Stock frame.

Buell Cyclone bikini fairing and headlamp.

GS1000E instrument cluster with Dyna shift light.

Newer paint.

1983 GS1100E swing arm, +4”.

1990 GSXR750 forks, wheel, brakes, fender and brace.

1990 GSXR rear wheel, brakes with stainless lines.

Custom drive sprocket (630 chain on GSXR hub).

New Shinko Raven tires, front and rear (F-120/R-170 series)

Rear struts, but could revert back to shocks.

 Motor: 1238/GS1000

Race cut trans

Welded crank.

Modified GS1100 clutch basket with GS1100 clutch pack. Red springs.

Stock block with big sleeves (minor fin damage from remote starter bar when raced). Block “O” ringed.

3Wiseco/1 Aries piston (matched to Wiseco’s perfectly) 78mm bore, 13.5-1 comp ratio.

Vance & Hines ported cylinder head. All Cometic gaskets.

38.5 intake valves/33 exhaust. All stainless valves. (Will accept GPZ 40MM intakes).

.080” base gasket to drop compression. Copper head gasket

Paul Casio Super Starter with FBG Battery, heavy duty 6 gage cables. Battery older.

APE valve guides, seals.

APE .500” valve springs

APE titanium SOB (shim on bottom) retainers/keepers.

Mikuni 40mm RS carbs (20 pilots, 140 mains, stock needles)

Billet 480/460 (reduced base circle) cams.

Dyna 2000 digital, programmable ignition.

Dynatek ARC-2 ignition (primarily installed just to try it. Does have launch rpm limiter).

Dynatek blue, DC9-1 coils (0.7 ohm) Dyna 8mm plug wires.

Runs on pump gas (92 octane preferred)..

Motor, block down, been together 12 years with many street miles. Could use either freshening up, but runs very strong, or a new block and pistons. Could use a carb sync, not done since cams installed 6 years ago. Also, when painted a few years ago, painter did not remove broken screw from 1 hole on right side of tank. Emblem here, but not installed.

 Bike has been non op’d in California for 9 years, but ridden around the block periodically.. Pink slip and matching number stock GS1000 engine cases included.

Nissin ABS Modulator Recall Explained in NHTSA Documents

Earlier this month, we published news about an issue with certain Nissin anti-lock brake system modulators that have been connected to recalls in Canada and Japan from Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki, with the possibility of it expanding to further models and manufacturers using the same component. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has now released documents from American Honda’s recall of ABS-equipped CTX700 and CTX700N that shed some more light into the issue. According to the documentation, a manufacturing error may have resulted in Nissin ABS modulators being contaminated with aluminum chips.

Roger Lee Hayden and a number of current and former AMA racing stars will be guest instructors at a two-day riding clinic at New Jersey Motorsports Park. The National Guard Jordan Suzuki racer and the other special guests will join the instructors of the Penguin Roadracing School for the “Ride with the Stars” special track day, Oct. 13-14.

Over the weekend, an aged Japanese racer reacquainted himself with one of his early loves. Celebrating 50 years of Suzuki racing, Mitsuo Ito took his former flame, the RM63, for a trip down memory lane and a lap around the Motegi circuit. The miniscule 50cc race bike was born from the legend of MZ employee Ernst Degner's defection from East Germany to Japan during the early days of the Cold War.
