Suzuki GS description

This 1982 Suzuki GS650GL is a very nice example of vintage Japanese engineering.

Bike has brand new:

Tires

Battery

Petcock

Mirrors

Oil and filter

Air filter

Carb cleaning

Runs like a top, brakes work great, all lights including gear indicator and fuel gauge work flawlessly. Shaft drive, 4 cylinder, 4 carb really takes it down the road nicely. Seat is perfect, paint is pretty good, the only obvious flaw is a small dent in the right side of the tank (pictured). Nothing needs to be done for you to ride this bike home. One owner motorcycle with 16,504 miles, I have the original owners manual and a Clymer manual if you would like it. This auction is being offered with NO RESERVE so the high bidder takes it. A $250 non-refundable deposit is due within 24hrs of action close and full payment within 7 days. In case you are asking why I'm selling it, this is what my passion is. I buy bikes that would otherwise not have a very bright future, do the necessary work to revitalize them, and move them on to their proud new owners, thus keeping what I believe to be very impressive vintage machines out on the road. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask.

There is a youtube video of a cold start on this bike, just type: gs650gl cold start 11/28/16

Thanks and Happy Bidding,

A Different Bike Magazine

Thu, 12 Feb 2009

Motorcycle Retro is a pet project of former Motorcyclist editor Mitch Boehm, launching as Motorcyclist Retro in early 2008 under the Source Interlink media umbrella. It featured a contemporary look at motorcycles of the 1960s through the 1980s. However, the circulation numbers of MR didn’t meet the expectations of the media conglomerate, and they cancelled production of the magazine after just two issues.

Max Biaggi loses the plot . . and very nearly his teeth !

Tue, 29 Mar 2011

I’ve just got back from Donington Park and the second round of the World Superbike championship. The racing was exciting, going off without a hitch, and the weather was unseasonably kind, but the meeting will be remembered by those in the fairly close knit WSB paddock for reasons other than the temperature or the race results. It’ll be remembered by most, especially those who witnessed it, as the meeting where Max Biaggi finally lost his already feeble grip on reality.

Official photographs and details of the updated 2012 Suzuki V-Strom have emerged as the Japanese manufacturer continues its prolonged teaser campaign to hype its “New Middle-Class Motorcycle”. Indeed, the latest teaser is expected later today but images and specifications on the updated Wee-Strom have emerged from Suzuki’s global site. The 2012 Suzuki V-Strom 650 will again be powered by a SV650-derived 90-degree V-Twin engine with a displacement of 645cc.
