Suzuki GS description

Up for auction is this 1985 Suzuki GS1150E. The bike has been used as a drag racing machine since previous owner bought in 2009. Was raced regularly in the street bike category at Tri-State Raceway in Earlville Iowa and was 1st in points for 2013, 2nd in in 2012 and 2011, 12th in 2010. From what I am told this machine was a low 10 second bike. Owner died and this is one of the last of his bikes to be sold. As I find any more info out I will post. Things I do know the bike has are the Vance and Hines competition only exhaust, Mikuni RS series carburetors, lengthened and polished swingarm, Dyna shift light and RPM minder. I do not if any internal work has been done to the engine. It does fire right up and feels very strong. Body is in good condition and has been the black and maroon it is now. The right side cover has a front tab that was repaired and the left needs the rear tab repaired. Seat lock does not work, you can still pull cable to release. Front Pirelli Sport Demon tire has good tread. Rear Shinko tire looks to be about half tread. Every thing seems to be working fine at this time. Hasn't been used the last year and a half or so, may need some fine tuning/adjustments by new owner. Bike does have a previous Salvage title. I do not know the extent of damage received or when. Located in Dubuque Iowa and can be viewed anytime by appointment. Bike will need to be paid cash upon pick up by winning bidder with a $100 deposit due within 24 hours of auction end, bike to be picked up and paid for within 7 days of auction end. If you are planning to ship the bike I can be available for shipper and payment arrangements need to be planned ahead of time.

Teaser: 2012 Japanese Literbike Shootout – Video

Thu, 29 Mar 2012

The last time we assembled the superbike offerings from the Big Four Japanese manufacturers to determine the alpha male model was 2009. The CBR won that confrontation, but a lot’s changed since then. For 2012 Honda revamped the CBR1000RR, Yamaha added traction control to the R1, the GSX-R1000 lost a muffler and last year Kawasaki introduced an all-new ZX-10R.

Why I love BSB's Showdown

Thu, 26 Sep 2013

It has lovers, haters and even many that still don't understand it but everyone in British bike racing is currently talking about the BSB Showdown.  With my rider's or team manager's hat on, I wasn't convinced when it was first announced in 2010 but I'm now totally converted and enjoy every part of the season as intensity increases.  And being a value for money Scot the best thing is you get four championships under one umbrella.  Championship # 1; In the early rounds everyone on the grid has aspirations of taking the title but as the season progresses, the focus narrows down to making sure you secure that top six showdown spot over the first nineteen races (riders can also drop their worst two results).  Championship #2; For the confident front runners, over these races, the real goal is the podium credit championship (3 for 1st ,2 for 2nd,1 for 3rd) which then gives them a points head start after things are put back to zero for the final seven race shoot-out.  Championship #3; The best of the rest championship (7th and below) that will be battled over the final races. Championship # 4;  Over the final seven races the British Superbike Champion is crowned. The recent adding and reshuffling a few top name riders for the Showdown has already spiced things up so hold on tight for the remaining five races!
