2013 Long Beach International Motorcycle Show Report

Today the motorcycle press descended upon the Long Beach Convention Center to attend media day at the annual International Motorcycle Show. After feasting from a continental breakfast buffet the discerning journalists set to the task of reporting on the bounty of new model motorcycles – most of which has been previously showcased in our November EICMA reporting. Suzuki MotoGP Development Video Series

The first video of a four-part series documenting Team Suzuki’s MotoGP development process for its return to MotoGP in 2015 featuring behind-the-scenes and on-track footage is now available for viewing. Further programs will be available here on January 4th, January 7th and January 10th.  Episode 1 The Suzuki MotoGP test program gets underway in March at Suzuki’s Development base in Ryuyo, Japan with behind-the-scenes footage, on-track action and an interview with Suzuki MotoGP test rider Nobu Aoki. Episode 2 The team moves to Twin Ring Motegi in Japan in April and May where MotoGP rider Randy De Puniet joins the team as test rider.

Suzuki Reports Q1 2012-2013 Results

Suzuki reported a 11.7% decrease in motorcycle sales over its first quarter and an operating loss of 3.5 million yen (US$44.5 million) from its motorcycle division. In the quarter ended June 30, 2012, Suzuki sold 573,000 units, down from 649,000 units sold in the same quarter in 2011. Sales were down in most regions though unit sales in the U.S.
