Triumph Daytona description

.Relisting again this will be the last time lol.Hard bikes to sell I'm not sure why..These bikes are very capable even though their a few years old..This is a 9 out 10 bike, only because it's not a 2016....Selling my Triumph Daytona 955i CE limited edition. All original miles(5249)..British racing green. This bike is in great shape, mint for its age. I ride this bike on the weekends and for about 20 miles each day. It's never been in rain and I use no water to wash bike...I use only Honda spray polish to clean it. After each ride I clean the chain and sprockets. If you look at the pics you can see how clean it is. I have had a lot of bikes ( 06 gsxr1000, R1's, cbr1000's etc). And this is my favorite one of them all. It does it all. These Daytonas had little gremlins, nothing serious. The biggest gremlin was the charging system. The fix was installing a MOSFET type rectifier with direct heavy duty wiring to battery.. The battery is a very light weight Shorai, weighs like a pound,lol...Most bikes have this issue also. Anyways on all my bikes that is the first thing I upgrade. This Daytona has a bullet proof charging system.I even installed a new stator at the same time. The 2nd gremlin is if you change sprockets certain ratios will cause unnecessary chain guide wear. I have tried various combos. Stock ratios on the 2002 CE with the single sided swingarm is 18/42. I always like adding teeth to the rear sprocket only. I have a 45,46,48 etc in the 530 pitch. And in the 520 pitch I have a 19 tooth up front and a 49 in the rear. The 19/49 520 pitch is on the bike now. I like it out of all ratios and pitch. With this set up no wear at all on the chain guide. Also crazy acceleration ... I'm 50 years old and been riding since 5 years old,,raced them and did plenty track days..And with the set up I mentioned this Daytona will keep up or out accelerate all current bikes out there in the 1/4 mile....Well except built turbos and such....This bike spins easily coming out of corners and will wheelie at will... I love spinning it coming out of corners it's my favorite and I'm very good at it I must say. This Daytona has never been on the track or crashed, but on the weekends for the 20 miles I go,it's rode hard...The oil is changed every 6 months with Mobil 1 10/40 and a pure one filter..The gas I use only comes from the boat marina,(non ethanol).. Always, all my bikes since new..Period..I do all my own work on the bikes...The Yoshimura exhaust sounds like no other,it's sounds incredible...People will stop in their tracks and just stare at the bike when passing,(no lie)..When your cruising around 4 to 5000 rpms in 2nd or 3rd sounds like a Lamborghini etc.....Here's a sound clip http://youtu.be/NOQVU5pvBrE  If you search kris9r on YouTube there's more clips... I made a nice rear hugger out of aluminum stock I had laying around looks really good and keeps the $700 Penske rear shock clean... The shock itself is a crazy upgrade wow big difference...Front forks revalved ...Front and rear brakes have new seals and just blead them, look at the pic of the brake caliper they are like new..Also have dual front brake lines,no stock crap that always leaves air in the system when trying to bleed them..Super hard brake lever....Bottom line is no worries with this bike period...And very unique...Serious buyers please...I'm forgetting a lot of things I know..Any questions just ask...Oh tires have less than 500 miles on them (Bridgestone rs10's)...Very nice tires but don't last long, very soft rubber...I knew I forgot somethings,,,anyways the exhaust system the black high temp paint is coming off just so you know what your looking at..Should had it ceramic coated, but no biggie....Also the rectifier I have mounted under the rear section, you can see it in the pic...I also have a lot of like new rear sprocket combos that go with the sale, along with new shorty black levers with red adjusters..I'm sure I'll remember more stuff later...You will not find another Daytona in this condition period anywhere in the world (well maybe, but I don't think so)..Anyways it seems also to me these bikes are underestimated and really should not be..There all business when set up right, this bike gets it done period..It will definitely put a huge smile on your face with the torque and acceleration on tap,not to mention the sound.

Some one asked if I had the stock rear shock...I added a pic of it..But had to delete one of the pics of me on the bike to make room for the stock shock pic...If you need it let me know..Oh it's been inside a box for awhile, little dusty(dirty) not really dirty...Little wipe down its going to look new...

Last picture is the stock exhaust I modified(cut down).. I then Tig welded not mig welded,Tig is more clean...If you have a good zoom look at my welds on it...Nice I know....Its not just an empty canister,I put a lot of time in it, the insides are gutted from all restrictions..Then I have the mesh steal with the straight thru pipe re welded and repacked with fiber glass packing...It sounds almost as good as the Yoshimura exhaust...Very clean job...Looks very very good IMO ,better than the long standard one..Also much much lighter ...

I can hold this bike for as long as needed,if you need me to...Its not in the way at all if this helps anyone...Other than that I'm telling you guys this is a hell of a bike for a great price....Don't miss out..

Rain Forces Triumph Castrol Rocket Team To Look To Bonneville 2015

Tue, 30 Sep 2014

The past two weekends have produced more than three inches of rain and sad news for Bonneville land speed racing fans.Triumph has released it official statement regarding the announcement by Mike Cook’s Bonneville Shootout that the course will not be ready for its Triumph Castrol Rocket streamliner and others to make a 2014 FIM legal attempt at 400mph. This is not what you want to see the week before racing on the Bonneville Salt Flats. Photo courtesy Mike Cook’s Bonneville Shootout (landspeedevents.com) Mike Cook’s Bonneville Shootout streamliner runs were rescheduled for this weekend, October 4–5, after wet conditions earlier in the month prevented the runs on the long course required to run at these speeds.

Twin-Engined Triumph Rocket Streamliner To Challenge Motorcycle Land-Speed Record At Bonneville

Thu, 29 Aug 2013

The 1,000-horsepower Castrol Rocket is currently undergoing testing for its upcoming assault on the land speed record of 376.156 mph, set in 2010, by Rocky Robinson with the Ack Attack streamliner. The goal: a 400-mph-plus record-breaking run. The 25-foot long x 2-foot wide x 3-foot high streamliner was constructed in cooperation by Hot Rod Conspiracy and Carpenter Racing and will compete in the Division C (Streamlined) – Type V (5) Spark Ignition, Over 2,000cc to 3,000cc class. Powering the Rocket are two heavily modified Triumph Rocket III engines. Each Carpenter Racing built engine was reduced from 2,294cc to 1,485cc (2,970cc total) to meet the 3,000cc maximum total displacement class rule requirement. While piston size remains the same stock 4-inch bore, stroke was reduced from 3.75 inches to 2.4 inches and redline increased from 5,750 rpm to 9,000+ rpm. There’s also one Garrett GT2876R ball bearing, liquid-cooled turbocharger per engine.
