Triumph TR6 description

One of a kind, spectacular three wheeler - like none you have ever seen. Lovingly hand crafted over several years. Designed and executed by owner. You'll never see another!

Fully restored 1963 TR6.  Triumph stopped making non-unit twins in 1962.  This machine has a 1963 title but perhaps was issued mid-year but is never-the-less a non-unit twin.  Dual carbs and manifold makes it essentially a T120.

This bike became a concept in 1969 where I envisioned a dragster front end on a motorcycle.  After many, many revisions I came up with this design.  About ten years ago I began in earnest to make it a reality and eventually did.  The front axle, front frame and body were constructed in my garage.

It is incredible to ride, is very stable and eliminates the fear of rounding a gravel strewn corner.  I am retired and the bike needs a new home.

Are Motorcycles Safer With Antilock Brakes?

Tue, 30 Dec 2008

A new report says riders with ABS-equipped bikes can dramatically reduce the chance of a fatal accident. The study compared fatality rates among riders on bikes that have antilock brakes, and it found that death rates were 38% lower on motorcycles equipped with the optional ABS systems compared to non-ABS bikes. In 2005-2006, the fatal crashes per 10,000 registered motorcycles without antilock brakes was 6.6.

Street Triple gets a Yoshi boost

Fri, 21 Jan 2011

Yoshimura, the purveyors of fine aftermarket exhausts have put the heads together for these fine looking high-level cans for the Triumph Street Triple. According to the PR; the exhausts offer a considerable gain in performance over the stock items (dyno results below), with a significant weight reduction. The stock exhausts top the scales at 7.2kg and with the top-of-the-range carbon slip-ons, the weight is shaved down to 3.5kg.

Triumph is recalling motorcycles due to problems with electronics

Fri, 07 Nov 2014

America, Bonneville, Bonneville T100, Rocket III Roadster, Rocket III Touring, Scrambler, Speedmaster, Thruxton, Thunderbird, Thunderbird Storm, Tiger 800 and Tiger 800XC will be recalled by the British company. According to the manufacturer, the engine control unit of some motorcycles may malfunction, due to which one of the fuel injectors will inject additional fuel into the engine cylinder. As a result, the engine will either not start or stall during operation due to excessive re-enrichment of the combustible mixture.
