In 1938, Twentieth Century-Fox took Kate Douglas Wiggins' classic story
and updated it to highlight Shirley Temples singing and dancing talent. In the film,
Shirley was transformed from a city child to a country girl to a radio entertainer in
this all-star musical comedy. Her supporting cast included Gloria Stuart of Titanic fame,
Jack Haley, who played the Tin Woodman in The Wizard of Ox, and her favorite
dancing partner, Bill "Bojangles" Robinson. They performed a classic military
tap routine during the film's final scene. Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm also
marked a milestone in Shirley Temple's career: at age 10, she was "growing up,"
and the studio publicized this fact by giving her a new, sophisticated hairstyle!

Epithemeus (meaning afterthought) was the creator of many dangerous, ill thought-out beasts. Bonhams’ annual fall auction, the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show, at Stafford County Showground is scheduled for October 20, 2013. Included in the auction is the above pictured 1974 Kawasaki H1-RW 500cc triple. Expected to sell for approximately $96,000 to $112,000, the Japanese works Grand Prix racer is one of only two machines built by the factory for the French Kawasaki importer SIDEMM for use in the 500cc World Championship. The bikes were ridden during the 1974 season by the French endurance racing specialist Christian Léon and French-Canadian Formula 750 star Yvon Duhamel.
