TypeType:Double Horns

Vincent All description

This is a Vincent Bach Double French Horn. This instrument plays very well. The valves move well with good compression and the slides all move of course. As for the aesthetic condition of this horn, there are some small dings and pings, as well as some scarring on the bell flare and some rippling on the bell tail. There is also some scratching on the instrument, particularly in the bell flare. The Bb side third slide is of a slightly unusual design in that it is similar to the F side first slide. All this is visible in the pictures, and none of it affects the playability of the horn. The engraving on the horn reads "Vincent Bach/ Elkhart IN/ USA". This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop, and repaired to full playability. This horn is not lacquered; therefore fingerprints should be wiped off after use if the player wishes for the horn to stay as shiny as it is now; if they are not wipes off then the horn will develop a lovely patina. This instrument comes with a somewhat worn hardshell case and a mouthpiece in good condition.

How the horn plays: Warm, open, full and round sound; the F and Bb side timbers match well, with the Bb side being just slightly brighter; the horn is very responsive; the low and high registers speak very well, with the low register having a very lush, full quality; the high register is very clear;

All horns are located at Silver & Brass Music Shop
