Engine starts easily...pull out the choke, and it fires up on first or second kick. Here are some specifics on the rebuild. - Frame and frame components were stripped. Two coats metal etching primer, 2 coats gloss black epoxy paint, 2 coats 2K clearcoat. - New Duro tires. - Front and rear fenders, headlight, and fork headlight mounting brackets stripped, primed with 2 coats etching primer, painted with 2 coats base color and two clear coats. - Oil tank and gas tank stripped, primed, repainted with three coats one-stage color coat and new decals. - Headlights, turn signals, and brake lights all working. New rear turn signal lenses. Could not get the horn to work...not sure why. - Engine work included new plugs, new clutch plates, right crankcase gasket, new exhaust gasket, fresh crankcase oil. Engine cylinder jug painted with black hi-temp engine paint. Side covers painted with hi-temp silver engine paint. - Autolube system working well. Original tank paint in excellent condition. A couple of small chips on right side tank decal. No dents or dings on tank. - Wheel bearings and brake shoes inspected and in good condition. - No rips or tears in seat upholstery - Original Mikuni carb overhauled. - New gas and oil lines - New fork seals - New grips and foot peg rubber pads - New battery - Chrome in excellent condition - Clean California title in my name and all California DMV fees paid The winning bidder will have to pick up the bike at my home in La Quinta, CA. Yamaha Champions Riding School August Update

Tue, 05 Aug 2014

Our friends at the Yamaha Champions Riding School have been busy lately. Since moving to New Jersey Motorsports park in April, traffic has steadily risen, with June being sold out and July not far behind. August is very promising with some new ideas (one-day clinics to bring a more economical program to a larger group of riders) being inserted into the mix as well as a normal two-day school at the end of the month, which is already 80% full thanks to the yearly visit from the engineering department of Harley Davidson. Following August YCRS will have two schools the week directly after the AMA Pro races at NJMP.

AMA Supercross: 2012 New Orleans Results

Mon, 16 Apr 2012

Ryan Villopoto has already secured the 2012 AMA Supercross Championship but that doesn’t mean he’s ready to let up and take it easy over the remainder of the season. The Monster Energy Kawasaki racer clinched his second consecutive title two weeks ago in Houston, Texas, but he continued his dominance in AMA Supercross’ return to New Orleans’ Superdome, taking the holeshot and leading all 20 laps for his ninth win of the season in 14 rounds. The New Orleans round may have lacked some big names currently nursing injuries such as Ryan Dungey, James Stewart and Chad Reed, but Villopoto provided a star effort in the first AMA Supercross race in the city since 2009.
