1979 Yamaha Other on ns1.2040-motos
Yamaha Other description
I have a clean yamaha 1979 SR500F
The bike was to be a manix cafe racer project but when I picked it up you know how the story goes. It's way to nice to strip and mod out. So here it is. The only flaws are the fork tubes are pitting at the triple clamp area and the high beam knob is gone. It still functions as it should but the rocker switch is gone. It only has 13k miles on it but will ga up because I can't stay off of it.
I have looked for one of these for 20years and finely found a good one. The stator was bad so I sent it to REXs Speed shop in the UK to have the low side of the stator rewound. I also installed his CDI box (have original).
It has a 34mm mikuni carb with a super trapp exhaust.
While waiting on the stator to come home I serviced the bike to ride. Rebuilt front and rear calipers, new tires, valve adjusted, serviced chain, serviced fuel system. Fuel tank has NO rust.
I really don't want to sell it but I'm wanting to build a cafe bike. I also have a really nice TT 500 all set up for flat tracking. I built it 1994 and restored/updated it in 2013. If you have any interest in that it will be on VFT this week.
Don't think I will be giving this bike away as I really enjoy ridding it.
Call, txt or email any questions 317-498-0241 send me a txt and I can send a video.
Buyer responsible for all shipping and handling but I will assist if needed.
Bike is for sale locally so may end auction early.
Thanks for looking and happy ebaying!

Yamaha has filed a number of patents with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office for an electric three-wheeled scooter. Unlike the Yamaha Tricity which has two wheels at the front and a third wheel at the rear, the patents are for a scooter with two rear wheels, each driven by an electric hub motor.Mon, 01 Aug 2011 00:00:00 -0700
Yamaha announced it is withdrawing its factory World Superbike Championship race team following the end of the 2011 season. The news comes as a bit of a surprise, just a week after reports the team had re-signed racer Marco Melandri for the 2012 season. On the other hand, the team has struggled to find a title sponsor this season, as has Yamaha’s MotoGP team.Wed, 09 Apr 2014 00:00:00 -0700
