It started out life as a classic powerful XS650. Now it's a mean, low and comfortable chopper. It Rides smooth on the Michelin Marathon tires. Sounds great with the custom exhaust. From lengthened front forks to the strong custom rear swing arm, this bike is both beautiful and completely functional. Custom lowered frame Longer front fork tubes Stainless steel front brake line Custom high and low beam Custom gauges that are accurate Custom rear swing arm Custom rear subframe that has battery and regulator/rectifier enclosed Custom rear fender that protects from the large rear tire Custom forward controls that are nicely built and adjustable Custom tank that has been sealed Custom headers Custom mufflers with removable baffles Custom seat with professional foam and cover Custom rear turn signals built into the rear subframe Custom brake and running lights K&N style air filters New needles, seats, jets etc Longer control cables Custom front turn signals Comfortable passenger pegs that match the front pegs She starts right up and runs well. Brakes stop you quickly, and it handles remarkably well. The seat height is very low as is the center of gravity. It is geared very tall, (low highway RPM) as you can see from the small rear sprocket. The welds are strong and look good. It has a single small dent in the tank (pictured) and very few imperfections (scratches) on the tank. The mileage is what is reflected on the odometer. the front fender has 2 very small dings from a headlight that is no longer on the bike. I would help crate for a fee to be determined and agreed upon. Buyer is responsible for shipping, but I will help in any way I can. This bike is very nice. It has very minor imperfections. Jefferies' TT V&M R1 for sale
Tue, 26 Apr 2011We got a tip-off about a former David Jefferies TT R1 for sale on eBay. The owner says it's from the 1998 TT but I'm pretty sure it was the one he raced in 1999. Here's a little bit more background about the V&M TT effort in 1999: In 1990 Jack Valentine gave up racing to concentrate on running V&M Racing, and after being sacked by Honda at the end of the 1998 season, the team set about to do some giant killing.

US Motorcycle Thefts Down 6% in 2011
Tue, 09 Oct 2012Americans reported 46,667 motorcycle thefts in 2011, a 6% decrease from 49,791 stolen motorcycles in 2010, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Despite the drop in reported thefts, the non-profit organization representing nearly 1100 property and casualty insurance companies says the theft rate still averages out to one motorcycle stolen every 11 minutes in the U.S. The numbers were published in the NICB’s 2011 ForeCAST Report which examined theft reports as well as recoveries.
