Yamaha Other description

Up for bid is this really nice Yamaha motorcycle. It is a DT175 Dual Sport Enduro made in 1981. As you can see from the pictures it is in really nice shape! Comes with a clear Michigan title and 2 ignition keys. One original and one remake. This is a nice old Enduro that needs and wants to be ridden. There is only two issues that I am aware of on the bike that will need to be looked at. The first is the rear tire. It seems to be in O.K. condition but does not hold air. I don't know if there is something stuck in it or the stem leaks, I really haven't looked at it closely. The other thing is the carburetor. I installed a new one and now it won't stay running at idle. Seems to run pretty well at speed but something needs adjusted and I don't have the expertise to do it. I have the original carb still and that will go with the bike if that helps any. There is just a small light scuff on one of the side covers but other than that everything looks really clean. Chrome is nice, seat is good, tank is clean, gauges are clear....wow....just really nice yet for a bike this old. You can tell with only 4000 miles that those were easy miles as it was well cared for. I am not an expert on bikes so please as questions and I will answer them as best I can. The bike is located in Findlay, Ohio and will need to be picked up by the new owner. If you want to have it shipped this will be handled completely by the new owner. I will only agree to be here when they pick it up. A $200.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit will be due to my paypal account within 48 hours of the auction closing. The remainder due in cash upon pick up of the bike. I will not release the bike or title until paid for in full. There is no guarantee on the bike as it is 35 years old. If you are a collector or someone looking for a fun bike to take on and off the road then look no further. You WON'T be disappointed!

Who To Watch In AMA Pro SuperSport

Thu, 13 Mar 2014

America’s road racing champions of tomorrow are racing in AMA Pro SuperSport today, and their season kicks off this weekend at Daytona International Raceway. With events on both Friday and Saturday, there are plenty of chances for glory for the 48 competitors entered. AMA Pro SuperSport is the most unpredictable class and the racing gives a chance for riders in the large fields to step up and prove they have what it takes. A great example is reigning AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike Champion and current SuperBike pilot Cameron Beaubier, who cut his teeth in his two-victory, two-pole season in 2010.

Back in the day, the All Japan 500cc Championship at Tsukuba

Fri, 24 Jun 2011

This ‘you tube’ gem sent to me recently brought back some funny memories from the scary but incredibly exciting days of 500cc two stroke racing. This particular race was the final round of the All Japan 500cc Championship at Tsukuba Circuit where I enjoyed a head to head battle with national hero Tadahiko Taira. Yamaha’s favourite son at the time, ‘tie wrap’ as we liked to call him, was taller and better looking than most Japanese riders (maybe a war baby?) and went on to win nearly everything in Japan during his career.

Pikes Peak 87th Annual International Hill Climb [pics and video]

Fri, 15 May 2009

Named after a man by the name of Zebulon Pike, an explorer who led an expedition to the area in 1806, Pikes Peak is home to the second oldest motorsports race in America second only to the Indianapolis 500. First completed in 1916, this year marks the 87th running of the “Race to the Clouds.” If the math doesn’t add up, this is because there were several years that the event did not run over the course of its 93 year history. The 12.4 mile trek up the mountain consists of 156 treacherous turns to an elevation of 14,110 feet.
