Yamaha Other description

2002 Yamaha Vmax 1200, You know what the Vmax is. I'm going to stick with the history and the extras. I am the 2nd owner of this maxx. I bought it with 450 miles on it from a guy that had 12 bikes. I laid the bike down in 2006. The rear of the bike took a lot of damage requiring the entire back end rebuilt including the frame and the swing arm. The work was performed by Yamaha. The bike has custom carbon fiber from MEK. The side covers, top cover, and rear fender have all been replaced. The front fender was never replaced, I had always intended to but never got around to it. The carbon fiber is beautiful but the process is done by hand and there are some imperfections. It reduced the bike weight by a few pounds, I don't know exactly how much. The rear shocks are works performance and were rebuilt after the accident. The front forks had Works upgraded spings. The bike handles much better than a stock maxx. The rear shocks alone are $1000. The rearsets are also from MEK. The posture is more aggressive. You will not find many Vmaxs with these rear sets. The bike has a few yamaha upgrades: a frame brace, the windshield, and the corbin seat which has a couple of small rips in it where the thumbscrews go. It's in decent shape, but not excellent. The bike also has stage 1 jetting, k&n air filter, and a 4-2-1 titanium exhaust from Hindle. It's a great sounding exhaust and a real nice performance combination. I'm not riding this bike as much as I'd like. It's a time thing for one, but also I have other toys. I did a lot of soul searching to list this and the fact is I won't be disappointed if I remain the owner. The price is firm, please don't waste your time or mine... serious inquiries only. Thank you for looking! $5,400.00

How to murder an HP2 Sport

Mon, 08 Oct 2012

Some bikes and cars should be left entirely stock; left unchanged from the way the factory intended them to be. In purchasing them you should understand that. I could produce a list of vehicles that should be taken off the owner if they modified them in any way but I'll save you the boredom.

Monster Energy Track Day of Legends with Schumacher, McGuinness, Espargaro and Flint – Video

Tue, 18 Dec 2012

Last week, we wrote about retired Formula One racer Michael Schumacher taking part in a track day at France’s Paul Ricard circuit on a Ducati 1199 Panigale. The event’s sponsor, Monster Energy, has released a video offering a behind-the-scenes look at the event. The seven-time F1 champion was joined by TT racer John McGuinness, retired MotoGP racer Randy Momola, Moto2 racer Pol Espargaro and Keith Flint, a musician from the group Prodigy and a racer in the U.K.’s  Hottrax Endurance Championship.

Snow riding and my new LC

Mon, 21 Jan 2013

I reckon the only thing to do when the snow comes is to get on a bike and my weapon of choice is usually a Yamaha TTR 125. I’ve had TTRs in the garage now for around eight years after Raceways Yamaha in Fleetwood put some on offer for just £900 and apart from a few broken spokes and worn out gearbox sprockets they have been indestructible. One of the two has an electric start and incredibly starts as easily as the day I took delivery.
